Little ashes: Robert Pattinson CAN act.

Watched Little Ashes today, a film starring Robert Pattinson as Salvador Dali. I watched this movie out of interest not just because of the plot, but I wanted to have evidence that despite Robert Pattinson's horrid performance as Edward Cullen in the overrated Twilight movies, the guy is a good actor. If his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire wasn't convincing, wait until you see Little ashes. Edward Cullen was played horribly, because one: Robert doesn't even like the character, and instead uses his role to create a sort of parody of Edward Cullen by bringing out his creepy stalker character. And it's also hard to play a character with little to no personality.
He played the role of Salvador so bloody well. Salvador Dali had bloody personality, and in this role, Robert Pattinson really brought it out. Every single stage of his character, from the quiet and reserved newcomer to slowly coming out of his shell to slowly going mad was pulled off so bloody well. There was animation. There were facial expressions. There was personality. It was GOOD acting. His acting kind of reminded me of Brad Pitt's acting as Jeffrey in 12 monkeys. It was actually a lot of fun to watch Robert Pattinson completely batshit.
The movie itself was pretty good too. Not the best, a little disappointing and flat, but bloody good acting, and not just from Robert Pattinson. Poor Robert, Twilight is going to follow his acting career like a baaaaaaaad fart. I just hope his other roles, roles that are WELL done, won't be ignored in the future, and that he won't be remembered and forever branded as Edward Cullen.
