Johnny and Jerry....

For those of you who don't know the stories about Natch and I being on the street together, I thought that I'd put a couple of them on here. They're not very entertaining but, this way, I'll always have them and I won't forget them. Actually, Natchet told me I should do this and I figured that it wouldn't hurt.

So during this time, Natchet became the boy toy of one of our friends here in Austin and was allowed to borrow her vehicle for about a week. During this time, that vehicle became our home. We went to this one party at our friend Dan's place on the north side and both got fucked up. At the end of the night, when everyone was taking off, we made sure to make a show of us leaving. "Bye, I guess we're gonna take of now and go "home". Thanks for lettin' us hang for a while and we'll see ya round." We then walked, no, stumbled out of the garage and down the driveway to the street where we parked the truck. We sat outside of it for a second and had a smoke before going inside where Natchet informed me of his past experiences with a truck that he used to have exactly like this one. "Trust me. This back seat folds down. I used to do this all the time on "dates". (Folds down seat)"Oh Yeah!!! Just like high school!" I crawled in and laid down on my "bed", which I let Natch know how fucking uncomfortable it was, and he laid down across the front seat. This was our new home. A truck parked outside of a party that we had just left. I'm sure we could have stayed at the house, but we didn't like asking for things from people, or at least we hadn't gotten used to it yet. After about five minutes, Natch said "Fuck this!", got out of the truck and threw up on the street. "Much better." he said as he climbed back in and we both passed out. As daylight broke, we both woke up wordlessly and lit our cigarettes, and we were on our way. We didn't have any place to go, and we didn't have any money so we just drove around Austin for a couple of hours listening to classic rock.

When it was time to pick our friend up from the airport, it was the saddest day of my life. After getting her home, we grabbed our bags and started walking away from our "home" for the last time. We laughed because it was hilarious to us that walking away from a truck could be fucking heartbreaking. We lied and said that we had a place to go when in reality, we had no idea where the fuck we were going to go. I managed to get a couple of bucks off some people on the way to the bus stop which paid for a pack of smokes and bus fare, then we hopped on the bus to Oltorf where there was an HEB. We pooled what we had left and picked up a loaf of bread and some peanut butter because we were fucking starving and came to the realization that we had no utensils and therefore couldn't spread the shit. So, I, wanting to add some civility to our otherwise primal life style, walked over to the picnic isle, ripped open a box full of plastic utensils, pulled out some knives and put them in my pocket. I walked out where I met a nice old lady who gave me $.50 so I could buy us a soda to wash down our gourmet meal with, met up with Natch and we used our tranfers to get us back to the 704 so we could scrounge up a place to sleep for that night.

Then there was the time where Cherry gave me and Natch adderol so we could be hopped up all day and then bought us booze in a vain attempt to "come down" of the ghetto speed high. This was the weekend that the whole "Johnny and Jerry" thing started because we were stuck in S.A. and didn't know how the fuck we were going to get back to Austin. But that is a story for another time.
