I stopped by to check up on Gibb. I was sensing her being sick, not to mention, I hadn't seen her around lately. I'm definitely glad I stopped by when I did. Poor thing, she looked horrible.
Tara: *knocks on Gibb's door, trying to balance the tray she's holding*
Gibb: *her ears twitch a little as she slowly opens her eyes. she slowly sits up, rubbing her eyes* It's open.
Tara: *opens the door slowly, standing in the doorway* Gibb? *trying to let her eyes adjust to the darkness* It's me, Tara.
Gibb: *sits up as much as she can and leans to the lamp on her nightstand, turning it on* Hey. Come in.
Tara: *carries her tray over to the bed* I brought you some stuff. *motions at the tray* Soup, orange juice, crackers, herbal tea.....ya know, the usual healing remedies. *grins*
Gibb: *give her a small smile* Thank you. *cocks her head a little* How did you know I was with the sickness?
Tara: Oh, I just knew. *winks* Sometimes I just sense things. Plus I hadn't seen you around, and you hadn't stopped by to see me. So I knew something was up.
Gibb: *nods* Yeah, I've been cooped up in here for a couple days. Thanks for stopping by, I was getting tired of talking to my stuffed animals. *shrugs* They don't make good conversation. *smirks*
Tara: I would imagine not. Now, try to eat some of this, I'll stay and keep you company for awhile. *puts the tray on Gibb's lap and sits at the end of the bed*
Gibb: *reaches for the tray, picking up the bowl of soup and takes a small sip* Mmmm. Chicken noodle.
Tara: *grins* It's my grandma's recipe. Definitely better than the stuff in a can.
Gibb: *chuckles a little* Agreed. *swallows and rests the bowl gently on her lap* So how have you been?
Tara: I've been good. Just immersed in research mode and getting the store ready.
Gibb: *nods a little before taking another sip of soup* And Willow?
Tara: She's good. Researching night and day, trying her best to find a way to help Buffy. I have to make her take breaks, or else she wouldn't eat or sleep. *small laugh*
Gibb: Yeah? I've been looking up some stuff too.. so far I've found shit. *frowns*
Tara: I've not found much myself. This whole thing is really upsetting. I hope we find something soon, for Buffy's sake. Well, for everyone's sake really.
Tara: Honestly though, Gibb, I know they will find something. They always do. *slight grin*
Gibb: *grins back* So I've heard.
Tara: I've known these guys for a long time. And they won't stop til they find something. Especially Willow, Xander and Giles.
Gibb: *nods* That's reassuring.
Tara: *nods, grinning* Very much so.
Tara: I take it you've missed school too since you've been sick?
Gibb: *nods* Yeah, just two days though. No big.
Tara: Oh, I wasn't meaning it like that. *smiles* I was just wondering if you wanted me to try and get the work you've missed?
Gibb: *smiles and points to her laptop* The wonderful world of technology has gave me the option of making up my classes online.
Tara: *nods* Good to see your on top of things. *grins*
Gibb: *smirks* I do my best. Which.. lately isnt so best.
Tara: *furrows her brow* Why's that?
Gibb: Sick. I feel like shit. *shrugs* I can usually magic my way outta sickness.
Tara: That's not what magick's for though Gibb. *slight stern look* It's not for quick fixes and making things the way you want them.
Gibb: I know, I know. But this sickness is beyond painful. *hold her stomach* Ow.
Tara: I know, and that's what these things are for. *motions at the tray*
Gibb: *gives Tara a small smile and takes the tea* You're great, thanks.
Tara: *smiles back* I try. But Gibb, promise me you won't abuse the magick. It's a wonderful thing to be able to use, but remember what its there for. It's not for personal use.
Gibb: I promise. I. I won’t let darkness take me over again. *shakes her head*
Tara: *shudders slightly at the mention of darkness taking over someone, but forces a smile* Good. I didn't mean to get all lecture-y on you. I just worry.
Gibb: No, it's ok. It's good to have someone worry. *reaches for Tara's hand* Let's ya know someone cares. *smiles*
Tara: *puts her hand over Gibb's* A-and I do....care, that is. *lopsided grin* Plus, you don't want a cranky Willow on your hands, that's for certain.
Tara: She understands the whole darkness thing, and she will not be happy if you abuse it.
Gibb: *chuckles slightly* Yeah, I know. I'll be sure to stay on her good side.
Tara: *serious look* It not only affects the person abusing it Gibb, it affects others too. Think of what it will do to Bryn. *lowers her head* I speak from experience here. Willow's abuse of magick affected me, I went through a lot of mental anguish because of it.
Gibb: *gives Tara a thoughtful look* I understand. I've been down that road before, and I promise, I'm not looking to go there again.
Tara: Sorry to get all motherly on you there. It's just something I've always taken very seriously.
Gibb: Better than you taking it like a joke. I'm glad you’re here.
Tara: I'm glad I'm here too. *smiles*
Gibb: *frowns* Oh shit. *hold her stomach. You know... it really sucks when you KNOW you're going to be sick. *looks to the door and back to Tara* Dunno if you're gonna wanna be around for this.
Tara: *jumps up and gets a trashcan from the corner* Here, so you don't have to get up. *puts the trashcan in front of Gibb and holds her hair back*
Gibb: *shakes her head, trying to fight it*
Tara: *rubs her back* Let it out sweetie. It's okay.
Gibb: *cant hold it on any longer. after a few moments she vomits violently into the trashcan*
Tara: *continues to hold back Gibb's hair and rub her back* It's ok, just get it all out.
Gibb: *coughs, letting the last bit out. she manages to let a few words out* This is so embarrassing.
Tara: No reason to be embarrassed, we all do it. *smiles softly* And, besides, it's always nice to have someone here to take care of you.
Gibb: *nods slightly, leaning back* Water.
Tara: *goes into the bathroom and brings back a glass of water and a wet washcloth* Here's some water. Sip it, don't drink it fast. *wipes Gibb's forehead with the wet cloth*
Gibb: *takes small sips then sets the glass on the nightstand* Thanks.
Tara: You're welcome. *grins, wipes her face some more with the cloth* Maybe that food wasn't such a good idea after all. *slight laugh*
Gibb: *smiles faintly and hugs Tara* Thought that counts. I appreciate it.
Tara: *hugs her back* You should try to get you some rest now. I will stay with you for a bit. Is there anything you need?
Gibb: *gives a childish smile* Tuck me in?
Tara: *smiles softly* Of course. *helps Gibb scoot down in the bed, pulls the covers up over her* Now get some rest sick girl.
Gibb: *smiles* Ok. Thanks again, Tara.
Tara: *smiles back* You're welcome, Gibb. It's my pleasure.
Gibb: *snuggling with her pillow, she yawns and closes her eyes. speaking quietly and faintly* I owe you one.
While she was sleeping, I slipped out and brought some books back to continue my research. I didn't want to leave her alone. Guess its that motherly instinct in me.
