I had an experience today that was completely mind-boggling.
In my journalistic grammar and style class, I had this lady (in her 30's or 40's) ask our teacher was the subject of a sentence was. Not any specific sentence, just what a subject was. Also keep three other things in mind:
1. This was the 5th week of class
2. This was the 2nd time she has asked this question, the other being about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
3. She is planning on being a major in journalism or PR.
Well, her lack of knowledge is probably because of the metric system.
