What a difference finishing the project from hell has made for my muse... I did start posting the story formerly known as my Not Big Bang. I know, I promised not to post stories until they were done but hearing how folks are enjoying it has really helped me kick the writing back into high gear.
So, without further ado:
- Bound to Burn the Wilderness - She was no stranger to losing something precious in a fire, for all that hers started with a whoop and the squeal of tires down a dirt road. Written for the Women of Supernatural Flashfic Challenge over at spn_xx. This was my first attempt at something from a supporting characters point of view and I'm rather proud at how it turned out. It wasn't the story I originally intended to tell but there's always time for that. Missouri POV. Missouri, John (Gen). PG-13. Word count: 683.
- Can't Tell Which Way is Down - He knew the job was dangerous when he took it. Written for the Celebration challenge at spn_het_love. quirkies requested a ficlet set in my College!Dean AU. Given the narrator, this is more Any Chance Collision than Always Falling. Outsider POV. Dean/OFC (Het). NC-17. Word count: 317.
- Your Sorrow for Another Coin - Chapters 1 - 3 - Winchesters always needed protecting, from themselves as much as anything else - so maybe it was no surprise that Mama added all that thyme and basil and oregano into spaghetti sauce every time a Winchester crossed their doorstep. This was originally supposed to be my entry for this year's Big Bang but life interfered. I am writing it based on a prompt from last summer's spn_xx challenge and am posting it as part of the This Woman's Work challenge at spn_het_love. I think it is a solid attempt at using a narrative style that underscores the narrator's personality and I'm taking a different approach with it than I normally would. It has a different feel than most of my other stories and I'm rather pleased at how it is coming along. Outsider POV. John/OFC, Dean/OFC (Het). NC-17 (Although chapters 1-3 are PG-13 based on content). Word count: 17,717.
