*runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off*
I haven't even read it yet! You had me because I love the first two in the series, but then you mentioned football (my all-time favorite sport) and Raleigh, NC (where I live)!
OMG! I love you more now!
Now I'm off to actually read the story and revel in the joy of it.
Ok, now that I've finished and wiped away a tear or two...
I love it! Awesome as usual. I really love Penny and Dean together. They're just so delightfully dirty and sweet at the same time.
It was probably the closest to an apple-pie life either of them would ever get, sitting on someone else’s blanket while Dean made another man’s daughter laugh.
This line rocks. It made me cry.
Penny actually bumped into Dean’s arm with hers, a cute little move that Jess used to do whenever she was walking with Sam and she felt a little flirty. Dean bumped her back, hands in his pockets.
And this...it's like high school sweethearts before you loose the innocence and it makes me so warm and fuzzy and happy.

Thank you! For some reason, I do not understand why I am often dissatisfied with canon girls for the stories I want to write. So I'm glad that Penny works well with Dean, since I tried to make her interesting and multi-faceted enough for someone who hasn't read my other stuff to like her.
And they've always been dirty and sweet at the same time. It's part of their charm. ;-P

I think that is my favorite line from the entire fic...so I'm thrilled that other people are liking it, too.

They do seem to have a certain amount of innocence about them, despite how much sex they have. Sometimes I wonder how much leeway Dean has ever given himself to just "be" in the moment with someone...but even I was kind of shocked by how much of a connection the two of them have now.
Oh I like this happy place. It's hot. And pretty. And has just enough emo to make me go Oh, boys
Thank you, as always! I couldn't not put a little angst in it. They are Winchesters, after all... And bless you for shouting out with my favorite line. I almost cut it because it was a bit of a downer and decided that I didn't want to do that after all. So...
Lynn! I love that even in this incarnation, Dean still manages to tick her off.
Hey, when something works, don't mess with the formula. ;-P
And the Hillsworth brothers! OMG! I love them.
Whew. I was a little worried about how they would come across, and I only really fleshed out a couple of them in this story but, you know, the 'verse is still young and it won't be the last time the Winchesters end up in Chicago so there's still lots of time to explore the Hillsworth/Winchester dynamic.

And that line^ is extremely hurty yet completely genius. Bravo!

That's my favorite line in the whole piece, and I almost cut it because it was more angsty than I really wanted the story to go (since I am, sad to say, the queen of much angst)...so thanks for letting me know that it worked!
aww, lovely. and v v hot. liked getting sam's perspective on some of this, and learning more about penny's ginormous family. and yay, dean with bbq. good, good image. mmmm.

Yeah, Sam's perspective is always really important to me...maybe even more so for this story than it is for others because it's really more Dean's story with Penny than Sam's story with the Hillsworths. (I don't have plans for Lynn and Sam, for example, even though she is Vertiline. Know what I mean?) But Sam IS part of the Winchester dynamic, and he really needs to be there to help ground it. I don't like it when he's just a secondary character, so I'm trying to rectify that when the story allows.
And Penny's family is fun. I hope to be showcasing them in future stories since we've really only scratched the surface.
