The Winchesters are on freaking ball of hurt. They could not even look at each other without taking someone out. Literally. Oh man. I don't know if John is the best thing to have right now, but hey, with you, I never know :o)

I like the blatant public displays of affections, even if they're only to the ones who're used to them :o) It's not Sam if he doesn't worry but it certainly looks bleak her. What with twitching eye, the evil within and the growing circle of 'first-people-to-die' around him. Oh, boys.

Am still interested in the journey they will take. Thanks so much for sharing [and still writing it!] :o)

*I'm* not so certain that John is the best thing to have around them right now, but that seems to be the way the story started writing itself. I actually tried to avoid the roadhouse, but damn if he didn't show up in the last story.

The side effect of writing Winchester, however, is that you start to use it, too. Instead of saying I like someone, I call them a freak. It's very disconcerting.

It's not Sam if he doesn't worry but it certainly looks bleak her. What with twitching eye, the evil within and the growing circle of 'first-people-to-die' around him. Oh, boys.

Much as Dean and Charlotte are important, this whole story is all about Sam. I wrote a meta document just for him...

Well, it's important that I make you laugh. I come up with things to do just that. ;-P

Can I just say, Oh fuck. And John Winchester, could you possibly be just a little more stubborn and misunderstanding? Because agggh.

John frustrated me a lot when writing this chapter. I know it *seems* like I'm not a fan, but I actually really like his character. I think he honestly believes that he is helping his sons, which doesn't excuse the behavior. And he carries a lot of guilt, although the only person who realizes that didn't stick around to put in her two cents.

*headdesk* Obviously, he didn't listen to a single thing Sam told him (or he doesn't know that Sam has Shemhezai flowing through him).

John strikes me as very driven, and the whole thing started because of Mary. So I'd expect some correlations between his relationship with Mary and a certain relationship with one of his sons... There are lots of blatant things coming out in the next chapter which I hinted at in the epilogue. ;-P

It's a really good thing that you write comedy so well because otherwise I'd have to take anti-depressants before reading this. ( ... )

The man conveyed more by what he didn’t say - with a look, or the tone of his voice, or the set of his shoulders when he heard something he didn’t like - than through any of the words coming out of his mouth.

That sentence is John to a "T". For some reason, it's also one of the things I find most fascinating about the man. And of course, Dean has inherited it from him.

“Like serenading Suzie Parker with that retarded kissing song from the mermaid movie makes you a real ladies’ man, Geek Boy.”

*lol* I absolutely loved that!

Sam heard her tell Ellie when Charlotte was putting the little girl to bed, so that the angels will always protect you. Dean’s eyes had gone wide at that, and he turned away from them both with a frown...

Such a perfect little nod to "Houses of the Holy".

The Winchesters reunited...oh, the angst. Those men are so freaking broken. They just kill me.

No kidding! I am having a dickens of a time (hee) conveying his emotions in BG. And I already started the next chapter in BTH, and that definitely was a challenge in the first scene. Most of it is non-verbal communication. (So take that how you want to take it. ;-P)

That was an homage to the original summary of the story, where Sam is trying to convince Dean to kiss Charlie by getting drunk and singing it as part of karaoke. Obviously, Dean and Charlotte solved that problem without any intervention from Sam, but in my fanon he was definitely a drama boy.

Such a perfect little nod to "Houses of the Holy".

And it makes sense given Charlotte's background. She honestly believes in it. And Dean really has no choice but to believe in it now. Proof and all that.

John's a tough character to get down in writing. He's definitely not one prone to long monologues. He's all about actions. It makes him an interesting person -- not to mention a challenge -- to tackle in fanfic. I think you're doing very well with him so far. :)

Thank you! He is certainly challenging. I'm trying to use the same methods I use for Dean, only even harder. Dean sometimes lets a little of himself out with Sam and (because it's my fic, damn it, and she's written to understand him) Charlotte...

Wow, you took me from giggling over Dean with the baboon fingers and the anemones to holding my breath and biting my lip as I read. Next part...eeeep.

Never underestimate the power of my wonky elanurel brain! Especially when I am on drugs. And had three weeks to write my funny bits...
