And punching the blasted Templeton was entirely the right thing to do.
Templeton deserved a full-on thrashing, but I think Samuel would have stayed his hands under the circumstances. Woe unto him, however, if he says something untoward again in Samuel's presence.
I think I may love this chapter best, thus far, because it expounds on Samuel a little more (and he's that lovely mix of unsure of himself and determined to do right that Sam is) and explores Verd
I think I am getting more solid in my voices for both of them. I've been having a better time with the Sam voice, and Vertiline pretty much writes herself now with Jane Austen (the historically witty, I might add) as my guide...although she's got this little spy thing going, too.
And she may not be more versed in the visions, but she definitely doesn't view them as a burden... More to come on that most likely in the next two chapters. ;-P
I have sadly deviated so strongly from the summary I put together, I believe that the only constant running through the whole thing is that Deane and Penny have sex. And, when you think about it, that's really kind of sad.
And you can definitely take Templeton out back and kick him about. In fact, I insist!
ah...beautiful, darling! I was so excited when I saw the update!
Can I just say that Samuel may be the sweetest creature on earth? He's just so cute and slightly awkward when not in the company of his brother...*sigh*
I'm glad that I'm hitting Samuel being strong and uncertain at the same time; I think that's a unique part of his character (well, more last season, I suspect) and I don't do so well with his voice as I feel that I do with Deane.
I really wanted Templeton to get thrashed (because, let's face it, Samuel is a Winchester) but I didn't feel Sammy would do it without at least giving a warning. And it was kind of a rawr moment watching him spring into action.
But now you have me curious about these rings!
Bwa ha ha...
It's one hundred years too late for the Scarlet Pimpernel (oh my, what a crossover *that* would be!)
That's your 'verse curse, baby! ;-P
And x-ray goggles? Oh dear. I'm not entirely sure I want Deane to have access to them! Haha.
Oh... You're just going to have to wait, but I am laughing outrageously in my chair at that.
HEE to the kissing against the wall, ah about time!
Vertiline and Samuel are much more proper than their elders, no? But it was about time. Sammy's been mooning for what, three chapters now? Dean was already having sex in three chapters. Get on the stick, Sam. (Or is that Verd?)
I liked getting to know Verd a lot better - she's very cool - and her and Sam work well.
Yay! I'm slowly but surely getting her voice. Penny was a lot easier for me, probably because she was originally one of my RPG characters and I had her personality already mapped out in my head.

But, of course, my heart still belongs to Deane.

But, yes, I think you should do that crossover. Hey, I'm writing Old!Chesters with wenchpixie. (Our mantra is "It's not a verse, It's not a verse.")
