First off, thank you for the commment. It still makes me incredibly happy to know that people still care about the stories I wrote.
When this first happened, it was a pretty busy time for me at work and since my work has a lot to do with the US and global economy, times were tough. I just didn't have the time or will to get them up again because I just couldn't convince myself recreate everything. I felt very betrayed and frustrated that because of some vindictive stranger, I'd have to start over from scratch, and I was also holding out hope that the LJ Security Team might be able to recover my jouranl. It was a little over a month ago they finally did turn it over to me and I found that everything had been deleted as I'd feared.
There's been so much support given to me and all sorts of lovely comments and messages about my stories. Now, I think I've moved past the idea of trying to convince myself that I was through with it and arrived at determination. I'm determined to get everything back up and anxious to pick up on a few stories I'd started working on.
I've created a writing community where I'll be posting all of my stories over the next few weeks and months. My plan is to edit and fix them up before re-posting. I'll be putting up links soon.
R&W will be the first story to go back up since I was in the middle of my missing scenes when this all happened. There will be a few changes to the stories so if you want a copy of the old one prior to any updates, I can send it to you. By all means, post it or share it. I don't mind at all. These stories are personal to me and I put a lot into them so it makes me proud when they're enjoyed by other people.
Let me know and I'll be putting up links to the new community as everything gets sorted, hopefully within the month. Hope to see you there!
Wooh, you have no idea how relieved I am to hear your fic is going back up. Fic is my escape. I'm a recent college graduate with bills, and mounting pressures and responsibilities. The economy is in the toilet and not to sound overly dramatic or pessimistic, but things seem to be getting worse, not better. Fic is a easy way to just get away from it all for an hour a day and read something that makes me feel fuzzy inside. And in that regard, your fic is like my security blanket, so really, this is a relief to hear.
I'm more than happy to wait for the fic to go back up in a new community, complete with edits and fixes, though if I may stroke your ego a little more, I never found any glaring problems or issues.
Where exactly will this new community be located? Will you link to it through this journal? Or is it going to be under the name of your old writing journal?
In any case, I'm very glad to hear you're forging on. And you'd better believe I will be there to read and comment and continue to stoke your ego. After all, you are the author of my favorite MCR fic of all time.
Okay, so I was browsing on mcrficfinder and someone was asking about R&W, which obviously you've gathered. I did notice the deletion, but I had no idea that this had happened as it did and I am so, so sorry someone did that to you. :( I don't understand why people do this stuff. I really don't.
However, I've got to say, I'm so happy that you, one, backed everything up, and two, are putting everything back up. It's such a fuck you to the hacker, and I think it's just so admirable to do so after you've been hurt that way.
I'm really not complaining, though. :) I read the first R&W when you first posted it, back when it was a one-shot, and loved it. I just, unfortunately lost track of it, and only just recently found them again and started reading again not long before the deletion. So I am very, very happy to hear that I'll have a chance to keep reading.
