First I just wanted to ask - are there any other active Torchwood rec communities other than Janto_recs and Torchwood_house? I had a look around today and couldn't find any, but maybe I'm missing the obvious. I'm asking this because I'm interested in starting up a new rec community and would like some help to get it going as well as other reccers ( Read more... )

I thinks it's a good idea, and it's good to give a chance to new author, it's difficult to find his place in this fandom.

Yeah, just think some writers need a confidence boost.

in the french fandom we have not this problem, we have so little author, every story is applaud, even the bad one lool

Well, there's always some which are like.. CRINGEworthy, but I don't like people getting godlike status in fandom. It tends to mean the new writers don't get a lot of recognition, even if they're really good.

mmm, that I know of: tw_recs and myfanwy_reads
Not as active as the ones you have listed though. Tw recs is open for everyone and myfanwy reads is run by 2 fans I think.

Ah yeah, I saw myfanwy_reads but tw_recs doesn't come up on the search. I was sure it existed somewhere though.. :P

I love the idea though, keep us updated?

I will, thank you :) To be honest, it will probably take me a couple weeks to get it going, so I'll spend a few days looking for people to help out. Once I have it set up, any help would be welcome..

It's about half way there. I took a break to get TMWI done, but I'll get back to it after that :)

I'd really love to rec some videos and fanart too. janto_recs doesn't have that and torchwood_house are, like you said are for more experienced.
But I dunno, you should totally do it. I'll be happy to help with reccing and stuff. And the layouts or whatever.
When I get back from vacation of course. But school is starting soon. I don't worry about that though. I worry about getting back home.

Thanks honey :) Yeah that would be really ace, I know your graphics would be stunning! I have to go back to college too in a few weeks, but meh. I get Fridays off for fandom stuff :P

We could make it for vids and art too then. Also, I was gonna allow RPF recs since I and a lot of people on my flist (including you!) love it so much. I'll make a poll of some sort in the next few days to find out what people want and then create the community.
