Several things have me going Hmm... today.
First of all, a virus or malware or a worm or something hacked my FaceBook and sent porn to all of my friends. A porn video was the first contact my high school friend Julie had from me in 15 years. Not to mention that lots of my friends are orthodox Jews. Hmm.
Incidentally, I have $1,000 for whoever finds the hacker who started this one, brings him to me and cuts his balls off with a rusty pair of garden shears.
Second of all, I put up a tongue-in-cheek article on The Endive today about Ahmedinejad's re-election. Basically, it covers his acceptance speech which just happens to follow the exact same formula as every single Obama speech. The result actually is pretty funny, though I must admit the intent isn't to present Obama as a Muslim extremist. It's to present Ahmedinejad as a phony while presenting Obama as merely formulaic.
Plenty of people will misinterpret the message and accuse me of painting Obama as a terrorist. Oh well. I'll enjoy the hate mail.
In the "hmm..." department, it got me thinking. Was Iran's election really fixed?
CNN and most of the western press want us to think that the voice of opposition is strong in Iran, but I can't help but wonder if it's possible that the majority of the country's population really does want a fundamentalist Islamic state. Is it our business to deny them their own culture? It only becomes our business when they start threatening us and our allies with Nuclear destruction, of course, but if they weren't so nuke-trigger-happy, could the people of this country actually learn to live and let live when it comes to fundamentalist Islam?
Hmm.
