Author's Notes: I started this, and then saw telaryn's awesome story about the end of the episode (Which you can read HERE, btw.) So I decided to just finish off my story and make it an official drabble. Which for the record, are hard to do lol. I don't know if it has quite the impact I was going for, but hopefully you all will enjoy it! :)

From a safe distance, Faith sat hunkered down between cars in the junkyard, watching her breath curl like smoke in the cold air. She wanted to tell him she was there, but his strangled cries carried across the wind and broke something inside of her.
“Please… I can’t-”
She shifted, her whole being practically screaming at her to move, to do something, anything. But she didn’t.
“I need some help… Please.”
She wasn’t that girl. She never would be; she just didn’t know how.
She heard him sink to the ground and they sat alone, mirrored in the dark.
