Hmmm, so...Japan. Righto.

If I break out into Kanji, or something of the like, just pay no mind, I still havent quite mastered this keyboard business.

Haha, I hate this part. The whole summarizing-my-experience. Hmmmm. Well. It turns out that not knowing Japanese was not the best idea. There are other exchange students at the high school now, so I have people to hang out with, but they all know Japanese. And if they don:t, they know Chinese, or something that makes it easier for them to pick Japanese up. Alguien habla espanol? It:s sort of funny...I came here, and since the language around me wasn:t English, my first instinct was to speak spanish. So my journal is in Spanish. It works out pretty well. I think my Spanish is getting better, just because I:m here.....if that makes sense at all.

So, there:s three other kids that were here a week already, and they:re cool for the most part...sometimes it:s sort of ..lonely, I guess, because I guess they:ve, yanno, known each other for a week already. And..yeah. Hi. And then there:s a huge group from L.A., but they:re mostly obnoxious and don:t bother talking to us, and think they:re super cool and all. But my host sister:s awesome! And her mom is really nice, and they have a realllllyy cute dog...

The food is amazing. It:s..wow. It:s really good. I had pizza the first night I was here, though, andddd....that was an adventure. It was pizza, but it looked totally different and tasted totally different...there was a seafood one, and then one with chicken...but it had all kinds of vegetables, and mayonaise? On the table, they have salt and mayo...it:s sort of entertaining.

I:m in a computer class right now at the University (my host sister is in college now), and it reminds me of CompApps! Yay....I guess.

Oh shit. That reminds me. My grades are in.

Shit. I:m scared.

Okay, we:re not going to think about that right now.

Oh! There was an earthquake my first night! I had a couple adventures my first night, actually...the first one was in the shower, when I was trying to..yanno..take a shower, and I pressed this button...and then all of a sudden it starts beeping at me, and then I hear sater rushing out of somewhere....finally I find it, and this tub next to me is filling up with water! So I start pressing buttons frantically...and it doesn:t do anything....so thank GOD the mom comes in, and I:m covering up in my towel, and she fixes it for me. Phew. Oh, and then last night, when I was trying to wash my hair, when I was dead tired, there was NO hot water. None. So I:m like...hokay. I can do this. When I was SURE there was NO way I could get it, I just rinsed off with the cold water....but then I couldn:t do it. Like...I had to turn it off, and I was shivering. And it:s pretty darn hot out. And my skin is all tingling and weird feeling. So I wrap myself in a towel, and go out with shampoo in my hair and find the mother (I think she:s seen me in a towel too much), and she fixes it. And guess which button she pushed!!?? One of the ones that I pushed the first time! I:m beginning to reeallly not like that thing...ohohoh ONE more bathroom story...the toilet in the house?? You sit on it, and it:s WARM. It stays WARM. And then when you sit down it starts, like...buzzing? And then water trickles down behind you...like, ew, behind your butt....okay too much information, sorry, but..yeah. It:s weird.

Okay. So my second adventure my first night was...well I woke up about 5 times during the night, first of all because even though I hadn:t slept in like, over 24 hours, or something, it still felt like 3 in the afternoon. And it was crazy hot. And the only covers on my bed are really heavy...so. I was supposed to get up at 6:30, and Marika (my sister) said she would wake me up. She was sleeping in her mom:s room, which was on the other side of the wall. Well I wake up to my bed shaking...like, back and forth, back and forth, and I was like uhhhh is it time to get up yet? It:s kind of dark outside...and that:s sort of a strange way to wake somebody up. I thought she was like, reaching through the closet to my side of the room, and just shaking my bed. So I lay there until it stops, and I get up and look out to the hallway, and everything:s dark...so I was a bit confused, but whatever, I go back to sleep, and forget about it....until the next morning, when I hear one of the LA kids talking about the EARTHQUAKE that we had last night.

Go figure.

Sounds like the time when my cousin was trying to wake me up by shaking me, and while she was doing it, I was having a dream that somebody was putting lotion on me.

Well this is getting far too long. I:m having a really great time (well, for the most part)...laughing a lot, all that. I wish I could see more of Japan...I mean, I:m HERE, for goodness sake, I don:t want to have to come back here to see the rest of the country...but oh well. I guess it:s bigger than it looks. I went to a ballet class last night with Marika, and next week I:m gonna take the class with her! I:m excited. Oh! And I saw Yuki! Marika had to go to the dentist:s so we talked for the hour and a half that she was gone. That was fun.

When I get back, I HAVE to see you guys. I miss everyone a lotttt...like Dana said (I just did a marathon LJ reading session), take lots of pictures and tell me about them! I:m worried that when I get back I:ll be clueless. Okay. Well. I:ll shut up now (in Japanese :shut up: is :damare:)......byyyeee!
