ahhh! I just talked to a Japanese guy in Japanese! It was awesome! On a whim, I created an avatar for one of those online world things, this particular one is called Second Life. And I was exploring and no one would talk to me and then I found a region that was Japanese, but I figured it was more Japanese interest. But everyone was speaking ( Read more... )

Yay! That's really cool! Especially that he thought you were a native speaker. I'm amused by your mood icon too; I've never seen one that went upside-down like that.

That was pretty awesome. then I talked to two more japanese guys later today and they went way too fast and weren't nearly as nice.

when i clicked on excited, i was very surprised because I definitely didn't expect that

Well, they clearly don't deserve to be talked to, then. It's weird to think there can a significant difference in speed when you're typing. I guess some people just type more slowly than others.

It was more like, the first guy typed out full sentences and the others were typing little phrases. It's really irritating and the chat box wasn't that big so it scrolled out quickly. It would be
like
typing like
this
so that
I don't have a
chance
to translate
the first thing
before the next popped up.
plus, it takes me longer
to use the language bar
than for them to use
their keyboards. nee?

That's annoying to read even in English. Your example sort of looks like a poem (which are also annoying to read)...but it's not.

Maybe one day you'll get a Japanese keyboard for occasions like this...
