Fear ME

May 31, 2007 23:14

I never heard anything from my cousins after the meal out the other week.  My Grandma was livid and so was my mum.  Mum sent them both an e-mail asking if they could meet up with me, but nothing really came of it.  I think when I next see them I will talk to them about it and try to explain why I was so hurt and upset...if they don't want to know ( Read more... )

grandma, new experiences, cousins, benefits people, me, health

Oooh you'll appreciate this one!!

Yesterday I got a letter asking me to attend an interview with my adviser at the job centre.... Bearing in mind I'm not allowed to get a job for another month, this will be interesting!! Stupid people, gah. I wonder what job they think someone who has been told they're not allowed to do anything for at least a year is actually meant to get....

*praise ye DWP*

It's when I hear things like this that I begin to wonder whether the cretins who wrote 'the system' spent three days on a bunch of mind altering drugs before hand and then preceeded to get paralytic drunk every day there after.

I think the fact that you have to pass a rigorous medical certifying you unfit for work and then attend an interview to find you work says it all...it just...arggghhh...logic go BOOM!

I think the best thing that happened to me at the job centre was when I failed my first medical and my personal work advisor told me that I should apply for job seekers allowence. In order to get job seekers allowence you have to take proof to the job centre every week that you've been attending job interviews and actively seeking work. It was at this point that I could barely walk.

...

I could rant about the benefits people for ages. But trying to understand there illogic makes my head hurt, lol!

I really hope you get a work advisor with a brain cell or two, it will hopefully make things much easier on you!

I think I got bumped up the queue because I also get IS. Grrrrr, it's so stupid. I'm waiting to hear from my advisor if she can come with me, or at least give me some decent advice.
I want to stay in education as it is, so not sure what they're going to do with me.

Hope you get it all sorted.

Just for posterity I would like to announce to the world (well your LJ) that there are sensible people working in these places occasionally, as the nice man I spoke to on the phone when trying to sort out my IS actually was helpful (and possibly recreated guidelines for me). Sorry I was feeling a bit generous, but we malign so many of these people, when there are some out there who will actually help. I can only hope my advisor is anywhere near as useful!! :S

I've yet to encounter one myself, but it's nice to know that there is hope! :0 ( ... )
