I hated her. There was no other way to describe the way I felt about Lavender Brown. I don’t even know where it all went wrong. I tried so hard, but I never got anything in return. It was like she ripped my feelings into shreds. She hadn’t cared, all along. I hate the way she talks. I hate the way she walks. I hate the way she prances about as if she hadn’t a care in the world and I felt as if I had them all. I hate the way she walks past me, without a glance, as if she had never said those three words to me. As if she never cared, even once upon a time. Like a perfect stranger.

Lavender shook her head, he lied to her. He said he would stop it, but he didn’t. In her hand she held a small bag of cocaine that she had pulled out of Oliver’s robe pocket. She didn’t understand the addiction, and what was drawing him to it so much. She had given him an ultimatum. It was either her or the drugs. Clearly, this was his choice. Not her. With something like this he wasn’t going to have his cake and eat it too.

It started off with Vodka and a pack of cigarettes, or maybe a night out with his friends but now he was snorting the stuff just when he felt sad. She had tried it. Only a small portion and just one time, and that was enough for her. She never experienced with the stuff again, but Oliver couldn’t get away from it. He was famous, there were pressures and she understood that much, but the fact that he didn’t try stopping was what made her so upset. He had all the opportunities in the world to stop, and when she asked him about it he’d claim he had control of it. That he was in control of the addiction. He didn’t want to stop. He didn’t want her.
