Okay, finally getting my fan account up! I wrote everything down over the span of three days in my real journal before writing one here. (Hello, writer's cramp.) My fan account takes up almost five pages in my journal, so forgive me if it's long. I promised
dookiechoo I'd make it long, though. She was supposed to go but couldn't after all. So Nisha, this entry is dedicated to you! ♥
Warning: My fan account is long because I'm detailed, so you can just skim if you want.
The American national anthem: The MCs were Ock Ju Hyun and Brian (of Fly to the Sky fame). They introduced the Crenshaw Choir, an African American group who, as I read in the festival program guide, sang Korean songs, which I thought was pretty cool. They sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" first, which everyone stood up for. They were really good.
The Korean national anthem: Then the MCs said something in Korean. The only thing I could catch was "Dong Bang Shin Ki!" so I thought, What, DBSK is on first?! which disappointed me, since I wanted it to be dark for the red glowsticks to be seen. But it was just Junsu who came out, looking handsome in his black suit, to sing the Korean national anthem. ^^; He was absolutely wonderful; his voice was high and pure and just...lovely. People cheered at some parts, mainly his high notes (I think), which I wish they hadn't done. After all, it was the Korean anthem and Su's solo. Everyone screamed and applauded a lot for him before and after he started. Oh Susu, you have the voice of an angel.
The Crenshaw Choir: The Crenshaw Choir was standing behind Junsu the whole time he sang. After he went backstage, they started their set. Their first song was a Korean one whose only part I could understand was "yongwonhi," which they sang a LOT. xD Their next songs were "Oh Happy Day" (made me feel like I was in church, haha) and one or two other songs I didn't know. They got the crowd going; I enjoyed their performance. ^^
SUPER JUNIOR T: Super Junior T was the first real group to perform. They came out in light-green jackets and yellow fuzzy scarves (feather boas?). I was surprised that they were on so early. Their first song was "Rokkugoh," which was fun. I liked the counting part. xD Their dancing was cute. Their second song was one I didn't know, "Chodcha." SuJu T's final song was "Haengbok"! I was happy that they did a song I knew. Yesung joined the rest of SuJu T for this one. I only knew the "saranghae" and "haengbokae" (sp?) parts, so I sang along with that. They were all really adorable, and I loved the performance. Apparently Eunhyuk said "Nice weather!" during their intro, but I couldn't really hear because Bench E was kind of far away and there was a lot of screaming. I'm a sucker for dorkiness. 8D; Heechul was funny because he was so loud with his "HI!" Haha.
CHAE YEON: I'd heard of Chae Yeon before the concert, just not her music. She came out wearing a blue halter-style dress and looked very pretty. She has a nice body. ;o; There was a problem with the back of her dress after her first song, I think the mic was falling off. One of her backup dancers tried to help her. Then a woman came out from backstage, I assume her stylist, to help her with it. Chae Yeon was really cute about the situation; no one minded waiting for it to be fixed. Her second song was cool, and her last song involved using long blue glowsticks that looked like light sabers (to me). She put on a good performance. I became her fan after the concert. :D Oh, and her backup dancers were very attractive. A lot of people noted that after the concert, haha.
MOON HEE JUN: Woot, Hee Jun, formerly of H.O.T. ^^ He came out wearing dark colors with a red tie, which I liked...and also reminded me of Avril Lavigne in her "Complicated" days. (PLZ DON'T SHOOT ME; I'M NOT REALLY COMPARING HIM TO AVRIL. D:) I didn't know any of the songs he did, but he was really cool. His songs reminded me of J-rock/visual kei, which I used to love until K-pop took over my life (lol :x). I really liked the rock atmosphere that he added to the concert since he was the only K-rock artist there. His screaming kind of gave me chills, but in a good way.
SNSD: So Nyeo Shi Dae! :3 The eight girls (Yoona was filming something in Korea and couldn't make it) wore light-green tops with white skirts and white knee socks. They looked pretty and were so adorable. I'm pretty sure they lip-synced "Kissing You," which they used their lollipops for. They did "Girls' Generation" live as their next song and were pretty good. Taeyeon's voice was really strong. I loved the "Kiss!" part in this song, where they divided into three groups and the girl in the middle was kissed by the other two members. But since Yoona wasn't there, one group was just a pair (omg I rhymed) and didn't have a girl to kiss. SNSD was seriously so cute~
JUNG HOON HEE: Hoon Hee wore a pink dress that looked very elegant. She had a really good voice, so I enjoyed her performance even though I had never heard of her before. I noticed a lot of people getting up to get food or use the bathroom during her performance. :/ I thought it was kind of disrespectful, but oh, well... Jessica from SNSD came out and did a duet with Hoon Hee during her last song. Their voices sounded good together, and they held hands for part of it, which I thought was sweet.
CHOI BAEK HO: Baek Ho was onstage for a long time, like almost half an hour. o_o I didn't enjoy his performance all that much. He was okay, but I liked his guitar playing more than I liked his singing. ^^; SNSD joined him for his last song.
SHIN JOONG HYUN: I don't remember much about his performance, but he was at least decent.
M (MIN WOO): He wore a white shirt and tank top with red pants. One of his songs was "Bump." He ripped off his tank during his long song and the crowd went crazy! He was really fit. o-o I found out after the concert that he commonly rips his shirt off in his performances.
FLY TO THE SKY: Only Ock Ju Hyun was onstage when the spotlight shone on her after M finished, so people knew FTTS was on next. Brian and Hwanhee looked really good, and they sounded even better. I didn't know the songs they sang since I hardly listen to FTTS (I totally need to now, though), but they sounded really good. Their last song, "Sea of Love," was beautiful.
YOON HYUNG JU & KIM SE HWAN: They were all right. Like Joong Hyun's performance, I don't remember a lot about it. Mianhe. ^^;
SG WANNABE: The three guys in the group were cute~ Their voices were good. I rarely listen to SG Wannabe, but I liked their perf! Haha, and I finally learned what the "SG" in their name stands for: "Simon & Garfunkel," since that's who they're influenced by. Thank you once again, KMF program guide. D|
SON HO YOUNG: Omg, Ho Young is so handsome~! He came out wearing dark blue, I think, and a hat. I wish he hadn't worn the hat since it kind of blocked my view of his face, heh. He seriously got the crowd going with his "GET UP!", "Say oh yeah!", "Can you feel me?" and stuff like that. He's really good at energizing people and interacting with an audience. :D Everyone got out of their seats when he said to get up jumped up and down. I would have too, but I was recording a fancam and didn't want it to be shaky, so I just waved my glowstick. His voice was really deep. He was reeeally good, my second-favorite performance that night. He's so charismatic, he was so loud when he thanked someone who gave him water. xDD He got people so hyped up that he had to tell them to calm down! Hahaha.
Finally, the sole reason I attended the KMF:
DBSK: When Brian announced "Dong Bang Shin Ki!" the crowd went CRAZY. Like seriously, truly, it was so loud. And of course, I screamed really loudly too. 8Dv You could barely hear the "Shin Ki!" because everyone was screaming so hard.
Anyway, the boys came onstage and the music for "Rising Sun" came on. It was lip-synced but I didn't care just because their dancing was so good. They all looked really hot, and omg, CHANGMIN'S SCREAMS at the beginning. "NOOOO!" *__* Even though I knew it wasn't live, I still screamed SO hard for him, you have no idea. It was like, "Changmin, CHANGMIIIIIIN!", etc. >>; What can I say, I waited a year and a half to see this boy with my own eyes, and it was finally happening.
After that, Yunho went into dorky!Yunho mode<3 and got the crowd pumped up by saying, "Say Dong Bang!" (which we repeated), "Say Shin Ki!" (repeated again). "Say Dong Bang Shin Ki!"; he said that four times. Then he said, "Everybody SCREAAAMM!" and I went crazy. Omo, his English sounded so natural~ He spoke more English than Yoochun, who spoke maybe one word not counting his English parts in "Tonight." Then he introduced their next song, "Tonight."
Omg, I was so happy that DBSK performed "Tonight." It's been one of my favorite DBSK ballads for a long time because it showcases all the boys' voices and ranges individually. It was ten 10000 times more amazing to hear it live. Changmin's voice was a little too loud for his beginning note, but he was still good. His vocals have improved since the studio version of the song came out. <3 I thought that Yoochun didn't say one of his English lines, but apparently he did; it's just that the mic volume/his voice was really low. Hearing Jaejoong's super-high note, I should call it his falsetto, was just...wow. Seriously, I'd always wondered what it would be like to hear it in person, and he didn't disappoint. Amazing. Such a beautiful song; it gives me chills to think about it now.
Next was "Purple Line," lip-synced like "Rising Sun," but that's okay because I got to do the chant!!! Like in
this video -- I practiced it before the concert. xD The screaming got even louder when Yoochun said his "I really wanna touch myself" line; I don't know if it was because the line is funny or because it was his turn to sing. But yeah. I screamed so much during all of Changmin's parts, I lost my voice. x_x But I liked it because it showed how much I screamed for everyone and everything, haha. Yunho was good during his "Purple Line" solo. Really hot performance. ♥
DBSK made like they were exiting the stage even though they hadn't done "Balloons" yet. I knew they were going to do it since a girl Marisa and I talked to before the concert said they'd rehearsed it. So, me: Wait, what about "Balloons"?? But then Brian asked if we wanted an encore, so everyone chanted, "Encore! Encore!" (I actually didn't know that's what people were chanting; I only know this from reading another fan account. xD;) So DBSK turned around and started doing "Balloons," joined by SNSD and Super Junior T. I sang along and was really happy. ^_^ Ahhh soo adorable. I was waiting for Changmin's part and thought he didn't sing it, but he actually did. His part was just really faint since his mic was either broken or at too low of a volume. (Yeah, DBSK/SM artists had the most mic/sound problems.)
DBSK's performance was easily the best 20 minutes of my life. I'll never forget it.
THE FINALE: The finale involved all the artists coming onstage to sing three or four songs together. Fireworks started going off; they looked really pretty. One of the songs was "Let's Go On a Vacation." A sign that said "Old & New" with a green dragon head between the "old" and "new" lit up and looked really cool. The finale was fun. I wasn't close enough to see it and thought all of DBSK was on the right side of the stage, but it was actually Junsu with SNSD and Hee Jun in the middle-ish, JaeMinChun on the right side (so much JaeMin!! :33), and Yunho everywhere (mainly dorking it up and dancing with Brian, LOL).
Things were over all too soon. There was a mad rush to the artist entrance when everyone had exited the stage. Marisa and I also went up by the fence that separated the public from the artist entrance. The security guards let us wait for about 15-20 minutes before making us leave. What the heck was the point of having us wait for people who never came out? -_-; Marisa said it was because they wanted to torture us. I mean, I think Son Ho Young came out since there was some screaming at the beginning of the wait, but otherwise, no one. Apparently SuJu T found a way out without being noticed. Their limo was gone. I think it was the one that was parked near the left side of the parking lot (I'd seen it earlier in the day), so Marisa and I went over there. I couldn't remember which of the two left spots it had been parked in, so I walked around both areas saying, "SuJu walked here; this ground is godly." ^^; I took pictures of both parking spaces since I'm such a loser like that.
The end. I hope I didn't kill anyone's eyes. D:
I don't know why it all feels so surreal. During "Rising Sun," I had to keep thinking, They're really real! You're here, they're here, they really exist! as strange as that sounds. I guess that was my mental way of pinching myself? Seeing them in photos and videos this past year and a half that I've loved them was NOT the same as seeing them IRL at all. I always knew it wasn't enough, but until I saw them in concert, I didn't know just how not-enough it was. So I guess DBSK was just too amazing for me to comprehend..?
Even though I was amazed by their dancing and vocals and screamed like crazy, I still can't believe I was there and that it actually happened... I have my photos and fancams, but it just won't sink in that I really attended. I don't know if anyone knows what I mean, but I know
quatre_x does, so I'm glad for that.
Haha, maybe it'll sink in if I can see DBSK while they're in the US. I have mixed feelings on their still being in America, though. First, I don't think they're in Vegas simply because there's not much stuff to do there unless they want to gamble. And little Minnie bb isn't even old enough to do that, hahaha. Idk, I just find it amusing that my Changmin isn't old enough to do some things here. I think they're probably elsewhere in California, or in New York City. I have mixed feelings about them still being here. Like, while I'm happy they're here and are probably having a little vacation, taking a break from being stalked by crazy fans, I don't know if I want them to be in NYC or not. I only want them to be here if I'll be able to see them. I know that sounds really selfish and whatnot, and I'm sorry, but it's how I feel. If I know they're here but don't get to meet them and tell them how much I enjoyed their performance at the KMF (I'd tell this to Yoochun in English), and also have them sign this postcard of them I have, I'll be really disappointed. If I know they're not in NYC, then at least I know I have no chance of seeing them and won't bet let down that way. Make sense?
I actually went hunting for DBSK after school yesterday, haha (^^;), which
kpop_rubba said I was cute for doing. xD I went around some of Times Square, then over to Bryant Park and Kinokuniya, from 3:15 to 4. I looked into the windows of some of the restaurants in Times Square (stupid glass was too reflective), and I went inside the McDonald's there. I figured that Changmin would like eating there since he's an eating machine that never gets fat (asdf jealous). Needless to say, I didn't find them, and I went to Cafe Zaiya to get some green tea ice cream. I hadn't had maccha in a long time, and it was delicious. Love Cafe Zaiya.
About the whole TaeSu thing: Really, it's so ridiculous. I won't link that YouTube video, but it's just crazy. The background music, the text at the beginning... How would I feel if something were stolen from me? Hello, Earth to deranged Junsu fangirl, JUNSU DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU. As much as we'd like to be able to call the boys our own, no one in Cassiopeia owns any of the boys. I don't own Junsu, you don't own him, no one does. He belongs to himself. I can understand that Su fans might be sad about him possibly really dating Taeyeon, but if you were a real fan, you'd be happy for him in the end. It's not realistic for any of us to expect to marry the boys for real, so why not let Junsu be happy if he's really with Taeyeon? And the picture that looks like them holding hands during the KMF finale, that lasted for two seconds! It was a small, quick gesture that, to me, signaled them saying, "Good job!" to each other. As for them putting their arms on each other's backs while exiting the stage, that was also brief and nothing to freak out over. The other singers probably did that to each other too. They probably just wanted to usher each other offstage faster. Please just respect him and let him have his privacy.
If TaeSu is true, then I'm glad Junsu and Taeyeon like each other and want to be together. If not, it's just an oppa-dongseng relationship, and I hope it all calms down. I'm scared for Taeyeon; I've imagined Cassie just ripping her to pieces upon her return to Korea... And Taeyeon fanboys might try to hurt Su, too. Gahh, I hope they'll both be okay.
