Win, Lose or Ska
AZ Awards honor the sounds and the fury
Sat 2/28
Arizona's music scene gets ska-punk'd this Saturday, February 28, when those about to rock beyond the local level are saluted at the 2004 Arizona Ska-Punk Awards. Presented by Laundromat Productions and Bad Stain Records, the show singles out the genre's standouts at downtown's Old Brickhouse Grill, 1 East Jackson, where 20 bands pack the bill, including Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Girl Kicks Boy, and Stood Up Shot Down (nothing passive about this aggression). Pre-show performances by No Such Number, Work Shirt Wonder, and Spaz Kitty bring in the punk at 5 p.m. Admission is $12 at the door. See
