so i use to say "dont regret anything, because there is always something you can learn". So i used to not regret anything. But now I dont really think that is a healthy way to live. It is true that there is something to be learned from everything, whether it is good or bad, but logic and reasoning alone aren't ample tools to fully learn from something. If you use only logic and reason, you'll never fully learn from something. This is because there is no "heart" in the equation. Regret is something that you feel in your heart. This feeling hurts. So, you have feel this feeling to be able to fully learn from something.
Regret also comes into play when do something that yields a lesson that you already know, without learning by experience. I also used to think that you can only truly learn things through experience. But this isnt true either. You just know that some things are bad. You dont have to experience them.
