i can't watch it either... it's showing in november and i'll be in UK at that time :(

so it's something like the audience votes for the country they thought was the best, then the country adds up all the votes the audience from their country gave. then the highest scoring country gets '12 points', the second highest scoring gets '10 points' etc etc. on the TV, they just announce which countries they give out 8, 10 and 12 points?

i was trying to read the wiki article on this, as well as this person's summary of it but i got soo confused @__@;; i was thinking the max points 1 country could give was 12, then instantly knew something was wrong XDD

Yeah basically you just vote like a crazy person and then at the show itself, the finals, the country you're in tells the people of the Eurovision the results of the Dutch/English/etc voting. So, as it was this year, our country voted for Norway like crazy people cause they loved the song and those results came in. Because people voted for Norway the most, Norway was given 12 points by us. Then also a big group of people, but smaller than the people that voted for Norway, voted for Azerbaijan, so Azerbaijan was given 10 points by us and so forth.

Most popular song that was voted for gets the 12 points
The song most popular after that gets 10
The song most popular after the one before gets 8
etcetc.

It's pretty weird explaining it to others, probably because I've been watching the Eurovision for ages now it's so normal for me xDDD Maybe I could find a clip of yesterday and show it to you..

ahhh okay that makes so much more sense now XD;;; i nearly thought each audience does the whole 12 10 8... thing as well XD;;

i get how it's really hard to explain things to people when you're so used to it XDD i find explaining things really hard too :P i think i might be searching for a download of it when i go back, but if you do find one (when you're free!!) link me yeah? :D
