It's been the custom for sometime to teach science students some art-based skills, so they won't end up hopeless eccentric geeks who shut themselves in their laboratories and cannot buy groceries without a mechanical translator. Okay, I exaggerate, but that's the gist of it.

Looking at the course, though, it seems geared towards communicating your ideas towards the unwashed masses who will be reading your work. And that makes sense, considering how much biological studies depend on PR these days. Biology's always been more connected to the outside world than chemistry/physics/math, probably because it's born from natural history which wasn't so esoteric, and we're still dealing with the consequences of it now. XD

BTW, if you haven't, go see the Natural History Museum on Cromwell road, just a block or two from Gloucester Road station. Lovely building and exhibits. I went a bit back then and was completely wowed. <3 (Okay, I've never actually seen a natural history museum before BUT STILL.)

yeah i understand why they make us do it, since after 2 years of pure science i can't write a normal essay at all XDD

people tend to understand biology a bit more than physics/chemistry/maths, because it's less theoretic to an extent. chemistry is the hardest to understand XDD

i plan to visit all the museums i'm interested in every weekend if i get in ♥ the natural history museum sounds really interesting *__* and i want to go to the wellcome trust museum!

Chemistry is hardest to understand, really? I've always thought picturing the way molecules interact is easier than electrons being in two places at once. But that may be because genetics is kind of halfway between biology and chemistry, so I'm not *as* clueless about it. XD

The annoying thing about biology, though, is that people always assume they understand it when they don't. HOW MANY TIMES MUST I EXPLAIN CARDIAC BIOLOGY TO YOU, MOM.

Pls do. It's right next door to the Victoria & Albert museum, too, so you can get nice art pieces while you're at it. Assuming you didn't spend the entire day at the NHM. <3 Daaaaaaamn, I wish I could study in London. I fell in love with that city so hard, my buttocks still hurt.

the people in my school think chemsitry is the hardest to understand XD i find all 3 sciences about the same, but then i find biology harder because of the vocab :( physics, with the whole wave/particle theory confuses people a lot ~___~ i wish they could just decide whether light/electrons are particles or waves XD

HAHAHAHAH i've downgraded myself to just using extremely simple examples to explain science to my mum XD

victoria and albert museum can wait, NHM is more important ♥ i hope i don't fall too much in love with london... my wallet is going to cry even more than now D:
