Rise Against Concert!
So yesterday August 11, 2005 was the Rise Against/ From Autumn To Ashes/ Comeback Kid/ The Loved Ones Concert at St. Andrew's Hall/ The Shelter. I am not allowed to drive to Detroit so Kate, Bryan, and I had to come up with a good excuse, which ended up being: me going to see my friends band at the CCA, my parents wouldn't know any better.
I ended picking up Bryan at the mall, then seeing Rikki at work, she's grounded until October 1st!!!! So it's good she has a job at McDonald's, that way we can talk to her. We were on our way to D-town..... the drive was good until we actually got to Detroit, all of the highways we needed to take were closed to construction, damn it! The whole time I was driving, I would guess on where to go, so I guesses on entering the Southfield Freeway and getting off at the first exit. I pulled into a gas station so I could look at my maps because Bryan and Kate cannot read one for their lives.
I couldn't figure out where we were so I acted on a whim and took a right, sure enough we see tall buildings about 5miles away. We were in a bad part of D-town and Kate kept on pointing at the gangstas, which made the chances of us getting jumped greater. hehe.
Finnally we were in downtown D-town, I always try and find Woodward, because that's the only road I truly know. I never could find Woodward, but we found Greek town, I knew that area so we were good. I parked then made friends with this greecian guy that made me feel safe. Asked directions to St. Andrew's Hall and found it surprisingly fast, ASTONISHING!
Right when we got in the building we went straight up to the balcony, which was really sweet, but at the very end we went down in the crowd. When on the balcony I felt like it was the place and time to have a cigarette, but my true hate towards ciggs conquered my urg for one! : ) I ended up getting a Rise Against tee, and the signature of the drummer/ singer of From Autumn To Ashes.
When Rise Against did their little acoustic song, Swing Life Away, this guy threw a bitch fit, telling Kate w, "we're not at a matchbox 20 concert, this song sucks!!" he was funny! During that song I tried calling Melyssa, because she's who I think of when I hear that song now!?????? (I don't know why though). I never got a hold of her : (
Bryan was going to spend the night but Friday he was leaving for South Carolina, so it wasn't that great of an idea to stay over with Kate and me. Kate did end up staying the night with me in my sweet basement!!! we smoked and hardcore danced so much!! fun fun.
I love adventures with Kate and Bryan especially in D-town where we'd have fun getting jumped!
