Wanna know an extra boring movie? "The Terminal". Years ago when it came out I was taken in by several reviews that "it was good". And since then I've lost faith in reviews. It was a very troubled time in my life and I couldn't even manage to relate to it. You have Catherine Zeta-Jones as the love interest of a foreigner, Tom Hanks, who's stuck in an airplane terminal because he has virtually no way of leaving or his country has been taken over or somesuch political BS. But you gotta admit, the accent provides lulz for all. And if you've got a friend over, making "Cast Away" jokes doesn't hurt either. :-3
I'm not much of a movie elitist. If it's there, and isn't an blatant chickflick or romance film, I'll watch it and usually enjoy it, even. But mostly I'm dragged into watching movies by friends or family, who said "it was good". And usually "it is good". But not great. I haven't seen a great movie since "War of the Worlds", oddly enough, the one with Tom freaking Cruise and Dakota "Shrieky" Fanning. I know people tear this movie to shreds and say it's crap, but honestly...why? What's so wrong with a positive view of the military, just for a change? But then I remember that most people who use IMDb are angry elitists who can't have faith in anything but themselves, and I disregard it. Sheesh!
Then again, I guess I'm what an elitist would call "ignorant", a "mediocre, lowbrow dunce". To which I say "bah". Movies are movies, some suck, some don't, there's no need to bash people personally about it. Last time I checked, me liking "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island" doesn't make me a bad person, nor does it define me in any way. It just means I like the fucking dog with the fucking speech impediment, mkay?
Can't wait to see "Cloverfield"!
