[Silence]

...So you humans have a few of these. It's-...thank you.

I pray to StarClan that You haven't claimed more of my brave Clanmates in the last seven moons.

Remembering the fallen has always been something I hold dear. I guess in a way, I like to keep remembering everything and keep things in perspective.

That's a very good belief, boy. The fallen...they like to be remembered.

Yeah, I like to think so. Every star up there is someone looking down. At least that's how I like to think about it.

...Silverpelt. Hm. I never thought humans would look up at it as well.

Yes. Yes, every star in Silverpelt is another warrior hunting with StarClan. At least, that's how it is for my Clans.

Lots of religions back home have tales of people looking to the stars for guidance since they feel each one is a person looking down on them. I think it's a great thing, having someone looking over you when you need it.

Like I said to Hay Lin, you need to talk, my door's open. The Bullpen's over on the first floor, west wing of the Inn. I'm usually in my office until late.

...It sure is. Spottedleaf...and Bluestar. Thank you for watching over me.

Thank you. You're a very intelligent young human, aren't you? Don't be surprised if I drop by some time. ...Though it's fair to warn you, I'm a cat.

Heh, I'm just streetwise. Used to be a thug before I turned to the safety patrol so I know a trick or two down the road. Now Ingrid would turn your head since she's got a photographic memory.

Man, I've seen stranger and that's back home with X Middle being all full of crazy people. I'll tell you about the Praline heist sometime or maybe the time I chased down a 20 foot ball of yarn.

Photographic memory? Whatever that is, it sounds pretty useful.

Yes, I've figured as much. This world is filled with many odd but wonderful things.

...Did you say a 20 foot ball of yarn? ...that stuff my housefolk used to give me.

It's the ability to see, hear or read anything and retain it for an infinite amount of time, able to recall it instantly. A lot of our cases have been solved due to Ingrid remembering something I missed.

Definitely. And yeah, a 20 foot ball of yarn. We've got some weird enthusiast clubs on campus and one of them was the Giant Yarn Ball Annual Competition. I wound up riding on it when it got loose, chasing down a perp.

...Amazing. I'll have to find out more about what you humans can do - the wonders never cease.

Heh, sometimes I don't think the amazing stuff is in us humans, but it's in everything. There's so much you can explore and so little time to do it in.
