The final blog of the year

Dec 30, 2007 16:26

Well, this is going to be my last blog of 2007. I haven't blogged in over 2 months now, and a lot has been going on since then...a lot of crap, but also good stuff. 2007 was probably the probably the best year ever and it's going to be hard to forget it. It was a year of firsts, disappointments, but also a lot of fun. They include: driving, Warped, meeting bands, getting the lowest grade I've ever gotten in my life, and going through the whole college process. The fun was definitely going to concerts every month practically and going on vacations.

Since my latest entry, I was supposed to go to Wintour w/ Hawthorne Heights, Amber Pacific, Escape The Fate, The Secret Handshakes, and The AKAs. But 3 weeks prior to the show, it was cancelled because of the lost of Casey Calvert. R.I.P. Casey. =( It was disappointing to find out the whole tour was cancelled, but I definitely understand losing someone close to you. It takes priority over anything else. More on with the bad news...I got my report card in early December and I earned the lowest grade I've ever gotten in my life. My parents were so mad, so now I'm getting tutored in 2 subjects and I have fewer priviledges on school nights. I don't know, but school sucks. Senior year sucks, especially. I don't understand why I took challenging classes this year. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Now I'm suffering for another 6 months unless I drop a course next semester. To add to it all, finals are coming up in like 2-3 weeks and I have to go through college acceptances and definitely, rejections, in 2 months. I wish we could just skip to graduation now and the summer, then everything would be okay.

2 weeks ago, we got out for winter break. Unlike all the other schools, we got out in mid-December, a week earlier than everyone else. I was so excited, no worries, no teachers, no homework, no tests for 2 weeks and 2 days. The following Monday, the family and I went to L.A. - particularly Anaheim and Garden Grove, for our annual end of the year vacation at Disneyland. The first day we got there, we went to the mall. It was the most boring day ever. The second day we went to Hollywood and saw the Hollywood Walk of Fame and hand/foot prints in front of the Chinese Graumann Theater. That night, we saw the musical, WICKED. I must say it was good. We didn't get home til 12 that night. The next 3 days were spent at Disneyland and California Adventure. I rode California Screamin' for the first time, and it's the shiznit. It's the best ride there in my opinion. At first I was scared to ride it, but if you ask me now, I'd go on it anytime. We came home last Saturday and the ride back was dreadfully boring and long - full of traffic. The next day I volunteered to giftwrap at Borders for a club with Diana and Lisa. We stayed there for 4 hours, wrapped a lot of books, and made $70 in donations. Pretty good I must say for all that work. The next days were spent going over to cousins' house and eating out for dinner with the rest of the family. On Christmas, my mom's side came over for lunch and we opened presents and played Guitar Hero all day. Yeah, my sister got it for Christmas and we've been playing almost every day ever since. It's addicting I tell you. That night, we went over to Uncle's house to spend time with my dad's side. The next couple of days I didn't do much. It was pretty boring. Friday, I went out shopping with Diana all day and didn't get home 'til 8. Yeah, it was fun and...interesting. Today I watched Atonement with mom and sister. I didn't like it all that much.

Now there's only 2 days left of break. I'm really sad it's over already. I'm not planning to do anything much either, so that sucks. One more day of 2007, then it's already 2008. I can't believe it! Pretty soon it will be June and I'll be graduating. It's all so surreal. I don't want to have new years resolutions, cause I never really keep to it, but I'm going to try this year.

- Work out more often

- Raise GPA

- Get into college of choice

- Get license before the end of summer

- Go to shows/meet bands (again)

- Be healthy and happy

Yeah, that's about it, but I really want to accomplish these this year. I hope I stick to it, haha. Sucks to go back to school, but I know I'm not going through it alone. 2008!!! I'm ready.
