Let's talk bands...

Pukkelpop festival has been awesome. My favourite show was Anti-Flag, in the middle of the afternoon with the sun shining hard. Their songs are really cool and the vibe amongst the audience made me grin the entire time. Yeah, they talk too much about the Economical crisis and the war and Bush and equality and whatever, but their idealism is kinda cute. And a one-liner like 'I wanna see the biggest moshpit Pukkelpop has ever made, let's write some fucking history!' is just hilarious. But the resemblance between the bassist Chris#2 and Frank Iero is striking. The piercings, the tattoos, the haircut, the body shape, the bending over while on his knees, the energy on stage, the crowdsurfing. It's exactly a younger Frank.

The Offspring was also amazing. The entire crowd was singing and jumping along. One of the best headliners I've ever seen. Much better than Placebo or Faith No More.

Paolo Nutini, the Get Up Kids, Thursday and the Blackout also made my list of Sweet Performances. I didn't even know James Dewees played in the Get Up Kids till halfway into the show when the singer pointed that out. I love that they played The Shelter (in a tent) and not the main stage. Much more intense that way. I really looked forward to Enter Shikari but the sound was much too quiet. That sucked, I'll guess I'll have to see them another time. Peaches was also good, but I stood too far from the stage to enjoy her stage charisma.
The only band I would've loved to see that didn't play was Kings of Leon. Next year again, I hope.

Yesterday I saw the new Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds. Love! So much! The music fit so well, the characters were interesting, the plot was filled with the typical Tarantino ingredients (like overlapping storylines), Brad Pitt was funny, Shosanna was one pretty heroine, vibrant colours, and some pretty perfect close-ups. Yep, I definitely enjoyed that movie. Will make my top 3 list at the end of the year for sure!

Tomorrow I leave for Scotland. Be back in ten days. Love to you all!
