Y-con '09
Well, we got back from Y-con '09 yesterday. I should have posted something but I was to tired to do so.
On Friday, after a long day at work the previous afternoon (3pm-11:30pm), I stayed up until about 2am packing the rest of my items in the car, showed up at Azu's place and crashed for all of 3 hours... nice... not really. Tenchi arrived at Azu's a little past 2am I think (can't be sure since I was pretty out of it) and he also got a few hours of sleep. At around 5:15 we started to get up. Tenchi woke up Azu while I was trying to warm up since Azu's place is chilly. Anyways, I go out, unlock the car and begin to reorganize the luggage since we had to fit all of Azu's things. That took a while. Once that was done, we went to the gas station, fueled up, and were on our way. Thank heavens the energy pills that Lourdes gave me kicked it. They seriously worked.
Once we were about an hour-and-a-half from San Mateo, we decided to pull over to get something to eat. We stopped at Carl's Jr. since Azu was hungry. Tenchi decided to get some sugar packets for old times sake. He made up an excuse of me being Hypoglycemic so that he could take as many sugar packets as he did without the cashier questioning his actions *lmao* What a dork. Well, after Azu finished her tatter tots, we were off again. It was a decent ride. No traffic. We got to the hotel just before 11am. We checked in and started to unpack.
Bobby arrived before Peter. It was great seeing them again, though I remember seeing Eve first while I was parking the car. Muze showed up to the room. At the beginning of the first day it didn't feel like a convention. We were in the room for a couple of hours before any of us began to change into a costume. Tenchi dressed up as Kakashi, though this Kakashi had a suit on and was doing my bidding. I was Ruffles, one of my Loli outfits. It seemed like whenever we would return to the room we would be polishing up a drink. Nadia showed up late, as did Mel.
I would type in a couple of other things for the first day but I'm too lazy right now to sort through everything that happened.
On Saturday, Tenchi dressed up as Kakashi and I dressed in Victoria (another Loli). After getting a bite to eat at The Grill, Tenchi decided to have me pose for some pictures, though he spent all three days using me as a walking, talking, dollie (I'm pretty sure he would have appreciated this dollie not talking back *lol*). He was getting in some really good shots with the simple camera he was using. It wasn't until later in the afternoon that I changed into the burgandy dress for Queen Veedua from MeruPuri. That's when Tenchi really let loose with the camera.
It was also on Saturday that we had the drinking party in our room. It was great. There was plenty of liquor, everyone was able to relax and just hang out, there was no drama. The guys almost made me cry. It was a great gesture from them. Mel, Kevin, and Nadia got wasted. So did most of everyone who attended the party. I got to meet some awesome people: Diana, Yuki, Ino-chan, Kitsune, Wes and the list goes on. I am so looking forward to ALA. I've already started going through possible new drinks to introduce to everyone.
The last day was spent as Queen Veedua in the formal dress. Lourdes did an awesome job. It would have been great if Nadia and Azu would have been able to dress up for MeruPuri but Nadia had to take care of business: education is more important than a costume, that's my opinion so no throwing bottles at me or giving me evil looks. Packing was the least of fun. I so didn't want to leave. I missed everyone the second we hit the freeway *tear*
The drive back was, for the most part, uneventful. After getting stuck in traffic on the I-5 due to an accident, as well as stopping in Los Banos to get something to eat, we made it to Delano; I called Nadia to let her know that all was well, I dropped off Azu, and then headed home.
That's pretty much it.
Well, I have to get some sleep. I have to play chauffeur for my mother again in the morning.
