A week and some days after the whole situation with his brother-in-law and finally Maikeru had his skateboard back. His mother had talked his strict father to let it go, while his dad was kind enough to give back the skateboard, his drums were another story. It wasn't a stick he broke this timw, those were manageable, it was the freaking bass drum. His dad claimed it was all an accident and that somehow punctured as he moved it. The skin alone to replace the busted one would cost a fortune. Thankfully the shell was fine and wouldn't need any repairs.
Sanity's Requiem had always struggled with their financial situation and most of the money that any of them made working was about 90% solely for the band. The fact Maikeru was going to pull such a large sum out of the donation wasn't good but he had to do it Jiro's uncle was willing to book them at his pub again when Maikeru could play. The gig itself didn't pay but it was the exposure they wanted.
Maikeru had went to the nearest music store with the money he had been saving and watched a majority of it be taken away. Once he had the skin he made sure he went straight home and attached it back on. He made to make up for that money somehow and decided to head down to the skate park and do some tricks for money, he could also hand out more fliers for his band on the way even though he didn't know the date of the performance.
He was sure he get a few people interested in the band enough that they would want to see the show. Maikeru would just cut through the busier parts of town and possibly a park. Strapping the skateboard on his backpack, as it was still mostly forbidden to ride the board in certain spots of the town. Maikeru started his walk.
Two hours in he was no where near the park but was getting some results from the fliers. He passed a guy that simply walked away from him and the paper without even looking at it and turned down a corner. It wasn't as busy but he would never miss an opportunity. "Excuse me anyone want a flyer about the great band in rising, Sanity's Requiem." he called out to the group at a crosswalk hoping someone, anyone would respond.
