I seem to remember someone brilliantly predicting this months and months ago. Handsome, dark-haired bloke, wasn't it? Charming sense of humour, ace on the Quidditch pitch? Really, you're going to be great at it. I'm proud of you. (If very very very very far from surprised that you got it; you're too modest, Freckles.)

I love that I notice that you've been Head Girl for maybe an hour and you're already panicking about your marks. Classic. (And, because you can't actually see me just now, that smile would be endeared, not sarcastic. Just, you know. To curtail misunderstandings, and your eyes have gone all wide about school, haven't they? Makes them look even more green than usual when you do that.)

Funny, our post hasn't come yet. Personally I'm expecting premptive reprimands for things I've not actually done yet.

Well of course I'm panicking about my marks! It's seventh year! NEWT's! Although I've come to the conclusion that if I don't think about it, I won't panic and if I don't panic I might actually do alright. That make sense? You get me, right?

And I just realised, if I'm Head Girl, and you and Sirius are as bad (or worse) than last year, then I'm going to be seeing a lot of you in my office. I can't quite make myself think of this as a bad thing..

Congratulations! You've nothing to worry about, Lily, you're wonderfully suited to the job. It couldn't have been passed to more qualified hands, really, I know you'll do marvelously!

Between you and me, I was rather hoping Professor Dumbledore would pick you. You've got a certain knack with the younger students that's really going to come in handy - you're going to be up to your ears in panicked first years the first few weeks of term, but you'll do fine. If you need advice on anything (which I doubt you will), please don't hesitate to ask. It'd be nice to be able to help in a way that doesn't involve war casualties, for a change.

I must admit, I've been a bit worried about the reactions of everyone in school to the war, and how everyone is going to cope. I mean, I'm not sure I'm qualified to help people, really, even if Professor Dumbledore thinks I'm the right person for the job. I'm glad I can do my bit though, even if I'm not out there in the middle of it yet. And thank you, you can be sure I'll definitely be calling upon your help, and your experience. I really appreciate the offer, Andy.
