Repick your choices? Not Satisfied? Go back to the Prologue You chose to open the pod.
Examining the pod didn't give you much clues on how to open the pod. You ran your hands all over it, trying to find a button or a pressure plate. You hastened your actions when you heard some coughs somewhere from the smoke.
I've not much time left, I've got to hurry!
Hsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
The bolts depressurized themselves and hissed open, making little click sounds. You quickly shielded your eyes from the lights that would shine but nothing happened. Peeking from your sleeve, you looked at the contents of the pod in surprise.
A boy- No, a young man with silver hair, suspended in the same globule of liquid-light as you saw that woman in, unconscious.
The globule popped, drenching the man in the substance.
A loud thud signified that the man had indeed dropped into the insides of the pod and you quickly scooped him up in your arms, running away in a direction you deemed clear of soldiers.
This must be the inside of the subway.
You noticed the lack of natural light, but you couldn't see much past the smoke.
You kept on running as fast as possible and turned right into another tunnel that branched off from the first.
Once you felt you're safe (for now atleast), you gently placed the man on the floor, his back against the tunnel's wall and began to work on his bounds. He slowly cracked opened his eyes, looking at you through half-lids.
Captivating silver eyes...
His gaze trailed down at what you were doing; his eyes curving into a slight 'C'. You noticed his tired smile and attempted to comfort him with soft words.
"You're going to be okay, alright?"
A reassuring smile danced on your lips as you tried to loosen his mouth gag.
"You... found me."
It was the same voice that you heard on the way to school.
A lone shiver ran down your spine.
"You..."
Your hands dropped at your sides, limp.
What is going on here...? The same voice?!
"W-Who are you?!"
Your voice trembled slightly. Your eyes narrow and dangerous; looking into his eyes for answers.
You didn't get any as his eyes fluttered close and his head lolled forward, unconscious.
You gritted your teeth in frustration and picked him up again; there was not point in dwelling over this now, you could get your answers later and ran further up the tunnel.
You let out a small gasp as you tripped over a hole; you tried to protect the man's weak body as much as you could.
"A-ah..." You winced in pain; you could feel the rocks and rubble underneath you poking your back painfully. You were sure you had bruises all over your back.
Your ears perked at the sound of running footsteps towards your direction; the feeling of slight panic rose in your throat as you turned your head to look back.
A lone soldier cocking a gun at you; slowly approaching you with each step he took.
You moved; dragging yourself and the man away.
I don't want to die now!
"Too bad you have to die..."
The soldier sounded... piteous, almost regretful.
His finger pressed on the trigger...
NO!
A cold hand grabbed your wrist and everything turns black.
"You don't want to die here, do you?"
The voice echoed from the abyss of darkness in your mind; all was white.
"Wha-"
You tried to protest but the familiar voice cuts you off.
"You seem to have a reason to live..."
This man...? No...
"If you had power, could you live?"
Flashes of the silver-haired man's face appeared all over your vision and you clutched at your head painfully; the light was blinding.
"I'll make a pact with you."
Two planets were about to graze each other; a bright light in between them.
"For exchange of power, you must make my one wish come true."
The voice continued as you gasped, keeling over on your knees in pain.
"Accept this contract and your life would be different than other humans. A different providence, a different time, a different life."
You were floating on your back in bright, white nothingness; images of children with a strange red marking on their foreheads were portrayed to you.
"This power will isolate you."
The voice grew cocky and confident.
"If you are prepared for it..."
You gasped as tendrils of pain took over your brain once again.
What do you answer?
A) "I'll take you up on your offer."
or
B) "No, I don't want to resort to power to get what I want."
