Dear Next Year’s Student:
In Mrs. Bade’s COMM IV class I got decent passing grades through out the year, but I had to work to get them. If you took this class because you thought it was easy or a blow off class you are wrong once again.
The work load is moderately heavy. The work is fairly easy though if you just use your time wisely. Mrs. Bade will usually give you enough time to finish the work in class. She will give you at least three or four worksheets a day.
They key to passing the class is attendance. If you show up everyday you won’t get behind, but by missing a day you have to make up all the worksheets from the day before plus that days work. It can get to be a hard task. Missing a few assignment here and there will not hurt you too much because there are so many of them. Do not make this a habit thought because it could catch up on you. I missed days on occasion and it is hard to make up all the missing work. Mrs. Bade will give you colored paper to take notes on. Take advantage of this and actually take the notes. Keep track of these colored papers because they will help you a lot when studying for the exams.
You will have eleven writing assignment a semester. If you do not complete all of them you will receive an incomplete in the class. So make sure you get these done and handed in on time. These are the assignments I did well on.
A career project will be given to you also. Pick a career that you might actually be interested in. I picked a career just off the top of my head and I was stuck with it. Once you pick your topic she will not let you change. Put some thought into it before you choose a career.
Mrs. Babe does not give out too much homework unless you do not finish your daily assignments in the time given. This was one of the perks of the class. The only real homework is reading if the class is reading a book. For this you will be given a certain number of chapters to read and fill out a questionnaire. Make sure to get these done before class.
If you actually take my advise and tips you will breeze through Comm IV. It is not a bad class if you just get you work done on time and study for those darn spelling tests!
Sincerely,
John Bradley
