The way things work out.

Lindsey shook his head as Jim Weston left his office. That’s right Jim. It still sounded funny including Jim in on everything that was important. Before he was nothing. Just some little scum bag of a lawyer trying to work it up to the hot shots. But since he made that deal he has moved up. Unfortunately he doesn’t remember a thing, so Lilah and ( Read more... )

A small smirk hinted at the corners of her lips, and a bit more sparkle in her eyes at the witty remark she received from Lindsey McDonald. Tilting her head to the side she watched his eyes as he gave her a quick nonchalant once over. Apparently she must have met some form of approval and the mention of her shoes was a nice touch too. He was well groomed, and Eve figured perhaps the partners knew what they were doing when putting Lindsey in charge of such a high priority project.

"I'm always invited, besides I don't actually require an invite. Also for the curious mind, we don't wear them all day. Appearances only, and if we're behind a desk they are usually beside our chair. I happen to like that they make me a bit taller, so I prefer them."

She continued the rest of the way into his office taking a seat in the oversized leather chair that was positioned in front of a desk that one might assume was making up for other areas of lacking. Her leg easily crossed and put a slight bounce to her ankle as it hovered there with the heel he had noticed before snuggly fit to her foot.

"So, I assume things are going to plan? No hiccups? No little disasters in the making just yet?"

"It's all about appearances. Especially in this line of business" He nods "Well you look good in them." It wasn't like he wanted to kiss any ass or anything, which maybe he did a little. Just to get on her good side and so she wouldn't go complaining back to the Senior Partners about him. He worked hard to get where he was and he was going to continue working harder so he could get up to the top. Hopefully one day he'll even make CEO of Wolfram and Hart. That actually was his goal and he was going to do whatever it takes to get there to.

He watches her as she moves over to the chair in front of the desk. "Right down to business I see." He says as he moves towards the desk and takes a seat behind the desk. "I see they've groomed you well." Lindsey takes a sip from his drink before placing it on the wooden desk in front of him. "Everything is going according to plan. Nothing could get in the way of this. So what really is your job here? There is only so much over looking one can do."

Eve grinned up at him at the compliment about her shoes. It wasn't quite that insincere tone that most empty compliments had, and she appreciated his efforts to make small talk with her. However she was here for business, and getting distracted by her shoes wasn't exactly what she wanted to do for the start of her meeting with Mr. McDonald.

"I'm not much for skirting the issues, you'll see." Eve watched him settle in behind his desk and recrossed her legs once more, letting her wrist settle atop her knee as her posture was nearly perfect. "I'm glad to hear that things are running smoothly. I'm sure it will please the Parters to learn that their investment in this project isn't being mishandled. They hate that."

At his request for a bit information about herself she smiled politely tilting her head to the side a bit, "Wouldn't you like to know. I'm a liaison to the Senior Partners. When they need to know something? I go to them. When you need to know something? I'll come to you. I'm your link to the men upstairs Mr. McDonald, and I'm far easier on the eyes than the conduit."
