Bookish 2011

Jan 24, 2012 06:57

Thanks to an audiobook, I officially met my reading goal of 24 books. But I usually don't count audiobooks, plus this year's list has several short/children's books... not really impressive, though my page count is higher than last year. I'll try to do better in 2012! My other main goal - a simple one - was to wrap up the A-Z Author Challenge with X, Y, and Z. Finally! Only took three years... *ahem*

Year End Total: 23
Plus the following audiobooks:
- Go the Fuck to Sleep
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
- The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

Other Year End Stats:
* Total Number of Pages Read: 8,711
* New-to-me Authors: All but Collins, Grant, and Black.
* Newest Book: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, with Deadline coming in a close as both were released within a week of each other.
* Oldest Book: The Willows was first published in 1907.
* Shortest Book: The Willows at 106 pages.
* Longest Book: A Clash of Kings at 1,009 pages.
* Fastest Read: Rule out the kid's books and the novella, and we're looking at Mockingjay and Miss Peregrine, both at 2 days each.
* Slowest Read: Oh, Soul Mountain... your on-again-off-again reading of 301 days was exhausting!
* Favorite Reads: REALLY enjoying the George R.R. Martin books - looking forward to the rest in this series! And The Book Thief was spectacular; definite recommendation for anyone.
* Least Favorite Reads: I just do not get the hype behind Lolita. And the protagonist in Life After Genius can jump off a cliff. I'm fine with that.
* Total Cost For This Year's Reading List: A whopping $33.85! Thank you borrowed books, hand-me-downs, giveaways, and super clearance racks!

Did quite a bit more knitting in 2011, too. Finished a scarf, cowl, hat, shopping bag, the Endpaper Mitts I've been wanting to do for quite some time, a handful of washclothes, some fish-shaped cat toys, and even replacement covers for my headphones. Hopefully I can keep this up through 2012. :)
