So, Wolverine? Was excellent.

The opening sequence was pure perfection and was a great portrayal of Sabretooth's gradual decent further into his feral mind. I think the story was fairly solid, though the writing itself needed work and they certainly could have expanded on some things and characters.

There were a couple of CG moments that were absolutely horrid but the rest remained fairly flawless. The main CG that was awful was when Logan was looking at his new adamantium claws in the farmhouse bathroom. We're talking Roger Rabbit level of animation here, there was that much difference in look from the CG and the real life shots. Also, the scene where he and Blob are boxing had some added CG giggling which looked pretty bad.

Gambit was pretty neat despite the small changes, though I'm still disappointed that he didn't have a thick accent. Hell, he's written with an accent in the comics.

Deadpool is one of Chris' favorite comic book characters, and rightly so. The guy is sarcastic, insane, and pure hilarity. When we heard that Ryan Reynolds had been cast to play him we were overjoyed; if anyone can capture the snide comedic timing that Wade Wilson is so known for, it's Ryan Reynolds.

What little we saw of him on screen, he didn't fail us.

The main complaint I had was that we didn't see enough of Wade to have any kind of connection when it's revealed that he was the one turned into this Adam of a Mutant. That reveal should have sparked some kind of emotion. Sadly, as it seemed to be the case with the other members of that group, we got very little screen time with them before their deaths.

Chris was worried about stories he had heard from the workprint, on how they changed the Deadpool at the end, but we ultimately feel like they've done a good job here. Because the mutation process was never completed, we feel it allows room for the Deadpool we know and love to return as he appears in the comics. (Which reminds me: LOVE the costume hints with the lines on his body and the burn marks around his eyes.) And with the added clip after the credits - Deadpool reaching for his head and showing the mouth cut open and him saying simply "Shh" (which, also, so very in character) - this seems like a good possibility. We're excited to see a solo act.
