I've only just read Pride & Prejudice.

Once you get past the social mores, the language and everything is really quite enchanting.

It's kind of amazing how much times have changed, even in the way we treat each other. Looking at just how much thought was put into the act of civility and formalities, and just how much time was spent on studying an individual's character (which would now come off entirely as gossip) it makes our generation seem really quite rash and lazy. Everyone's in so much of a rush anymore, that it really is all about the prejudice and quick reactions.

It almost makes you want to retreat to the Regency Era, though the day to day might seem so boring by comparison. A reprieve from today's stresses would be quite worth it, however.

And, of course, I've now joined the legion of Mr. Darcy admirers. ♥♥♥

I've always had a thing for the stoic guys, though.
