Cardiff - November 2011
Okay slowly getting over having to be back in Germany, so I’ll try to write up some sort of report ;)
Pictures are on Facebook (public) so…yeah. I might post some of the better John Barrowman ones, if anyone is interested. Okay the facebook thing is not working, even when I make a public album. So if anyone is interested in Cardiff/Castle/Barrowman pics I'll upload them somewhere else. :)
So Friday was travel day and I felt all over the place and anxious…Everything felt like it was surely going to go wrong…it didn’t thanks to a cute air steward at the BMI flight and the taxi driver who should try for Formula 1 ;)
Flight to Birmingham, then National Express to Cardiff. For next time we know that we just jump into a train at Paddington station and be done with it.
It rained when we arrived. Hey! I JUST HAD ARRIVED. WTF? It never rains when I’m in the UK! Just fitted the day though. Anyway…Hilton Cardiff is very nice, yep. Especially the view onto the castle. From the front. Let’s not talk about the view out of our window though…
Anyway, next time we’ll be back at Tyrosa, but this time the boys had a special day at
11-11-11 :)
I love Brains. I want more Brains…heh. The beer that is. It amused me quite a bit, because it also seems to help with my orientation…until I went into a shopping centre on Sunday…Oh boy did I get lost.
We did some shopping (OMG plush TARDIS with sound and light! *Squee*), some Formula1 watching, A lot of eating (Mini pies at Terra Nova…yumms!), a bit of Water Taxi travel, more shopping, learned about the history of Cardiff a bit oh yeah a Barrowman concert…
Voice wise it was the best Tour yet, I’d say :) Bit of story telling too but…the concerts felt a bit rushed for me…Might have been me though. Very funny/touching stuff as always :)
I almost had a heart attack when Gareth steered towards our row (very close next to us have been two empty seats!) but he ended up far away (well the other end of our row)…thank god lol. Of course I almost ran into him during the break and tried to be invisible. Dear me, I’m not a fan of situations like that…he and also Eve were there to enjoy a concert too and not to get mobbed by fans…ah well. Also…do people really need a picture with John’s parents? Hm.
Eve is so very cute up close btw. ♥ and Gareth after losing some weight…dear me. *ahem*
Very sweet moment during the Cardiff concert…well I say sweet, Scott probably wanted to kill John there hehe. They sang Rhinestone Cowboy together. Scott’s voice is pretty good I have to say!
Monday we had our Castle day. First Castell Coch which was nice, but nothing compared to Caerphilly Castle. Wow…I was very impressed. Not so much with the millions of steps but it was worth climbing around in there :)
Had a giggly moment at the pub there… “Ah I’ll take half a pint…” “Half a Brains for you then…” Heh. Yeah you had to be there I guess ;)
Tuesday we moved on to Manchester. Yeah…okay. Been there, done that now. Concert was nice once again, even though some girls behind us were a bit annoying and…John’s parents have been a little too close for comfort in my opinion ;)
The hotel we’ve been in was pretty nice I have to say…I want that room in Cardiff, then it would be absolutely perfect! :)
Wednesday it was time to say goodbye again. :(
I will be back in Cardiff though and I would love to go there next August/September and maybe for a full week, that would be just lovely :) And this visit made it crystal clear to me…I really want to live there at one point.
Wondering where to find a Welsh course around here…
