The combination of elements for this outing were actually rather mismatched. The location was in his world, a high knoll overlooking a valley full of trees that were just in the middle of changing to a warmer hue before falling. The outfit was from hers, a charcoal grey suit with a light blue necktie which he couldn't help but fiddle with constantly. The trappings were from both: food bought from a nearby village that had very good luck with their fishing and crops lately, and a battery powered cd player and a spread of blankets that they kept at the Kitten in the House.
Mismatched though it all was, it still seemed right. After all, their relationship had been a joining of odd elements from two very different worlds from the beginning. Using a collection of such when celebrating their one year anniversary of being together seemed to fit and the warm, slanting rays of the afternoon sun falling over it all seemed to confirm this.
He closed his eyes and mentally ran over the note he'd left on her dresser. He was pretty sure he'd written the right coordinates for meeting him there. He was 99.9% sure he had since he'd checked it thrice. The rest of the note he'd left fairly vague, wanting this to be a surprise.
