Fred hurried with Giles down the hall toward the source of the noise. They entered an office to find a young man in front of a cabinet of weapons, holding what looked to be a scythe in his hand. Before the man could explain what he was doing, Giles suddenly jumped forward, knocking him out of the way before the cabinet fell over.
She immediately scrambled for the scythe when he asked her to get it, picking it up as the man - Richardson - told them what was going on. She looked down at the weapon in her hands in horror. They had been planning to use this to kill Rupert and reverse the Slayer spell? She looked up at Richardson, her eyes narrowing, feeling anger bubbling up inside her.
Before she could do anything, though, Richardson was leaving with Rupert's message. She raised her head to look at him. "Now we know," she said softly, relieved that the trip here had actually been worth it. "Guess we need to do something with this."
"I can take care of that," a familiar voice said. Both of them looked over to see Cordy standing there.
When he heard Cordelia's voice, Giles turned around. "Cordelia?" he asked, furrowing his brow.
"Oh, hey, Giles!" she said before grabbing the scythe out of Fred's hand. "Wish I could stick around and catch up but I promised Doyle I'd get this back. You did a good job, Fred. Now go get some rest and let Giles take care of you."
Giles opened his mouth to say something but before he could, Cordelia was gone. He looked over at Fred and shrugged his shoulders. "I think Cordelia is right. It's been a long night and you need your rest," he said, stepping over to her. He took her hand again and reached over to turn the lights off. "Lets go back to my flat. I'll make you something warm to drink and then we can chat or you can sleep."
He gave her a small kiss on the cheek and lead her out of his office and back outside into the snow and cold.
Fred's eyes opened wide at seeing her friend standing there, and hundreds of questions swirled through her head that she wanted to ask of her. Before she could even open her mouth, though, Cordy had grabbed the scythe out of her hand, telling her that she was doing a good job and to let Giles take care of her. She wanted to ask what she meant by that, but before either of them could say anything Cordy was gone.
She stared at where she had been standing then looked over at Giles. Nodding, she took his hand, thinking going back to his flat and having something warm to drink sounded nice. But more than anything, she just wanted to spend time with him - as much time as she could. Even if it was going to break her heart in the end if she had to leave him.
Heading outside, he led her to his car. The drive back to his flat was fairly short. "You--you were amazing back there," she told him. "I didn't even see the cabinet falling over."
Giles found himself blushing at Fred's words and he shrugged a little. "Years of being a Watcher, I suppose. Plus, the scythe was keeping the weight inside balanced and if you didn't take it out right, it'd make the cabinet fall over. I assumed Richardson hadn't been careful with removing it."
He pulled his car up to his flat and killed the engine. It was starting to snow again so he jogged over to Fred's side of the car and opened the door for her. "Come on. Lets get inside before we get buried in snow," he said as the snow started to pick up. They went to the front door and Giles quickly unlocked it before ushering Fred inside.
Once inside, he took his boots and outer gear off. He glanced over at Fred and noticed the small snowflakes in her hair. Reaching over, he used his fingers to blush the snow out, while grinning at how red her cheeks were from being outside. "Fred..." he whispered before pulling her to him and deeply kissing her.
Fred watched Rupert as he explained how he had realized the cabinet was probably about to fall over, seeing that he was trying to make it seem like it really hadn't been anything. He didn't see that he had done something amazing.
"You notice things like that, though. That's what makes you special," she said softly. It was the kind of thing she could see being useful and needed in what she apparently had to do.
She stopped herself from thinking any farther, though, not wanting to wish for something that she might not be able to have. Instead, she allowed Rupert to help her out of the car and into the flat as the snow swirled around them. It was warm inside, and she slowly peeled off the gloves her had given her and her jacket. She looked up at him when he reached out to touch her, wanting to say something but finding her voice catching in her throat.
Within moments though, she was in his arms, and they were kissing. Fred moaned softly, wrapping her arms around him while she opened her mouth to allow the kiss to deepen. As they pressed against each other, all she could focus on was him. She didn't want to think about anything else, about leaving him or going elsewhere.
"Rupert," she breathed when they parted for a moment to catch their breaths, looking into each other eyes. "I...I don't want to hurt you because I don't know what's going to happen next, but...can I...can we stay together for the rest of the night?" She looked down and blushed. "I...understand if you...if you need to...if you don't want to."
Giles smiled at Fred's words. He knew there was a chance she would be gone by morning, maybe even sooner, but she wanted him. It'd been years since anyone had actually wanted to stay with him. "Of course, Fred," he murmured. He picked her up and carried her up the flight of stairs, and to his bedroom.
Carefully lying her on the bed, he hovered over her for a moment before softly kissing her. She felt so warm, and so welcoming, and he really hoped this was what she wanted. He caressed her side and kissed down her to her jaw line, and then neck. He can feel himself becoming aroused and he moaned a little as he continued to kiss her warm skin.
Giles pulled back and looked down at her before pulling her jumper over her head. He touched the warm skin of her stomach and slowly moved up. He caressed the skin under her bra-clad breasts and looked down at her face. "Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked, nothing wanting to hurt her in anyway.
Fred wrapped her arms around Rupert when he picked her up, resting her head against him as she felt her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't know where things were going to go between them after tonight, but part of her didn't care. She only knew what she was feeling and what he was feeling, and they needed each other right here and now.
When he lay her on the bed, she looked up into his eyes for a moment before he began kissing her. A shudder ran through her body when he began running his fingers down her face to neck. It felt so nice and wonderful. It felt...right.
She raised her arms to let him pull her sweater over her head then closed her eyes when his hand ran over her stomach and up to her breasts. Suddenly, she felt him stop and opened her eyes to look up into his green eyes, seeing the concern there.
"I--I'm sure," she whispered, reaching up to cup her hand to the back of his head. She leaned up and kissed him again before reaching down and taking hold of his own sweater and pulling it up over his head. She ran her hand over his chest and placed several kisses on it. "I'm sure."
Giles felt a weight being lifted from his shoulders when Fred said she was sure. He needed, wanted this and he didn't want her to push him away. Even though he knew there was a good chance she'd be gone soon, Giles still wanted to be with her - to make a memory that would last until his dying day. He knew, deep in his heart, that Fred would always be a part of his life, no matter where she went.
When she pulled his jumper off, and started to kiss his chest, Giles shuddered in pleasure. It'd been took long since anyone had touched him intimately and he could feel his trousers start to tighten. Leaning down, he carefully removed her bra and looked down at her. She was lying there, her cheeks flushed and her body ready to be worshipped.
"You're so beautiful, Fred," he said, his voice filled with emotions. Dipping his head down, he sucked one of her nipples into his mouth. He ran one of his hands down and unbuttoned her jeans before kissing over to her other pert nub. Giles then kissed his way down, and over her stomach. He wanted to taste her so he gently tugged her jeans, and panties, off before tossing them to the floor.
He could smell her arousal and it made him throb even more as he pushed her thighs apart. Moving closer, Giles licked up her wet folds, moaning at her taste, and pressed his tongue against her clit as he slipped a finger into her wet core.
