Fred groaned when Rupert's thumbs pressed against her nipples, sending a bolt of sensation down to her core. The sensation became even stronger when he began suckling her, arousing her and causing her to throb. She wanted him so badly, but she couldn't make her vocal cords work.
Instead, she groaned softly when she felt his teeth nipping the skin of her inside thights, letting out a shudder. She could feel herself becoming very wet, need knotting down inside her. Then she felt his finger slid into her and his lips and teeth on her clit, causing her to gasp and buck up slightly.
"Rupert!" she cried out. "Oh..."
Despite their short time together, he knew where to touch her and how to touch her. Grabbing the cover of the bed, she tried to keep herself from falling as she knew she would, the way he was going. Need and want and worry and love were all warring inside of her.
"Oh..oh God," she moaned, closing her eyes, her hips pressing up against his hand. She let go of the bed quilt with one hand to tangle her fingers in his hair. "Need...need you so...oh..."
Her emotions were in such a clash that it didn't take her long to feel herself starting to tighten, her body needing release from everything she was holding inside and everything Rupert was doing to her. Arching up underneath him, she found herself hanging on the edge for a moment before she suddenly let go with a soft cry, shaking underneath him.
Giles always liked the little noises Fred made. He knew he was causing her to feel that way. When she cried out his name, he started to lick her faster, his fingers stroking harder. He needed to feel her come on him, knowing they probably didn't have much time left together. Looking up at her, her face flushed, Giles felt a lump grow in his throat but he pushed it down. Tonight was about them being together, not about what they were about to do.
When she came, he groaned as he licked her juices up before carefully removing his fingers. Crawling up on the bed, Giles hovered over her for a moment and looked down at her flushed body. She was the most beautiful woman she'd ever been with. Pressing his forehead to hers, he stared down at her for a moment before pushing his cock into her tightness.
He didn't move though. Instead, he stayed still and continued to look at her. His chest tightened with love, fear, and sorrow. He was going to leave her tomorrow. She was going to be alone, but it was what he needed to do. There was a reason Cordelia was sending him in, and not her. He could only hope that Fred knew how much he loved her.
With tears in his eyes, Giles started to slowly move inside of her. He linked his fingers with hers and continue to thrust into her with long, slow strokes. Giles wanted to remember what she felt like at that moment, knowing he would never feel it again.
As she came down from her orgasm, she felt Rupert just above her and opened her eyes, gazing up into his green ones. When he looked at her, she felt as though she was the only person in the world, and it made her throat tighten and her heart pound even faster.
Wrapping her legs around him, she gasped softly as he pressed into her, filling her up. They lay locked like that, and she could feel tears coming to her eyes. She didn't want to think about what they had to do tomorrow. She knew they had to save Wesley, give him peace, but she knew there was a huge risk that she didn't want to contemplate, even though she could feel it tugging at the back of her mind and deep down in her soul. She wanted to tell Cordy no. She wanted to tell her that she didn't care what was going to happen, she was going in, not Rupert.
She wanted...she didn't want to lose him.
The tears started sliding down her cheeks as he began thrusting into her, slowly and deliberately, as though he was making each one count. She wanted to clasp him to her, never let this go, never let this end, but she could feel each second counting down, punctuated by each stroke of his cock inside her.
"I love you," she whispered. "I love you. I love you. I love you..."
The words kept repeating themselves, in her mind and on her lips. She didn't want to think of anything else. And as the coil of pleasure mixed with the grip of grief built inside her, the words pitched up in tone, more intense until they were all she could say and think and feel.
Until everything inside her fractured and exploded with one last cry, "I love you!"
Giles could see the tears sliding down Fred's face and it broke his heart. He didn't want to do this to her. He didn't want to leave her alone. He understood what it was like to love someone and to lose them. But, he knew he had to do this. Wesley needed to be released so he could find the peace he deserved. Wesley had died defending the world, and he deserved an eternity of peace and love.
Moving within her, he allowed her words of love to wash over him. At that moment nothing else mattered to Giles. He leaned down and kissed his tears away, his own dripping down and falling to her cheeks. "I will always love you, Fred," he whispered to her, trying hard not to rush what they were doing.
When he felt her clench around him, he pushed into her harder, groaning. He wanted to remember this moment so he stopped his movements as she came around him, crying out her love for him. And once she was settled, he started to move inside of her again.
He let go of her hands and slipped his arms under her body and pushed into her a few more times until his own orgasm washed over him. "Fred..." he groaned as he spilled himself into her. He continued to hold her close and when he caught his breath, he pulled back and looked down at her.
"You'll be all right, love. I'll always be here for you. Maybe it won't be like this but I will always look out for you. I promise," Giles whispered as he continued to stare down at her. "I love you more than anything."
When Rupert began moving inside her again after she came down from her release, Fred wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight, feeling herself continuing to shudder and throb a bit. Then finally, he pulled her tight against him and let, shuddering in her embrace as she felt his warmth fill her up. She moaned softly and shook a bit before opening her eyes to find herself looking up into his eyes.
"I don't want to lose you," she told him when he told her she'd be all right. Didn't he understand that she had already lost too much? Her life before and Wesley and now she might lose him. "I want you to stay with me."
She buried her head against his shoulder, holding him inside her, praying that they were worrying for nothing and that he'd come out of this all right. She needed him, didn't they understand that? They couldn't give him to her and then just take him away again.
"Be--before we go...in the morning...I--I want to go out and watch the sunrise with you," she told him. She took a deep breath then leaned up and kissed him deeply.
Giles and Fred woke up early the following morning in time to see the sun rise over the ocean. After watching it, they went back to the hotel room and gathered the weapons Giles would need in order to help him get Wesley's soul back. With a heavy heart, Giles allowed Fred to take him to the firm in Rome, both of them appearing right outside the building.
"There's a way for me to get in. Cordelia gave me instructions," he said, waving the piece of paper around. "I'm going to need you to guard the entrance and make sure nothing comes in after me, I suppose." He gripped his hand around the weapon and took Fred to the side of the building.
Turning to look at her, Giles took a deep breath. "Remember one thing, all right? Please remember I love you and I always will," he whispered as he leaned forward and softly kissed her. "I'll be back soon."
Giles pulled himself up into the air duct and started to follow the map Cordelia had given him. When he got above the room, he kicked the vent and dropped down into the room. The Por'tak demon turned around and roared at him as Giles looked over at the shelf of artifacts. He saw the knife and started moving toward it as the demon moved closer to him.
The sunrise had been beautiful. Probably the most beautiful thing Fred had ever seen, mainly because she had a chance to share it with Rupert. But now they were in Rome, outside Wolfram and Hart.
Looking up at the building, Fred felt her chest tighten. It looked exactly like the office in Los Angeles, right down to the glass. The house of Death. The place that had killed her. And now she was about the let the man she loved go inside to rescue the soul of the man she had also loved.
Looking up at Rupert, she nodded when he told her that he had a map to the room and needed her to guard the entrance to make sure no one came after him. If she couldn't do anything else, she was going to make sure she did this.
"I love you too," she whispered before watching his disappear into the duct.
Once she couldn't see him anymore, she turned around, watching for guards. She knew that sometimes, the L.A. branch had demon guards patrol the grounds when there was something inside the building that needed protecting. She wasn't sure if they considered Wesley important enough, but she wasn't taking any chances.
As she waited, she became more agitated. Then suddenly, she felt the hair on the back of her neck start prickling and turned to find a security demon standing behind her.
"Hey...hi...we were called to come out because there was problem with one of the duct systems and the air conditioning won't shut off in the science lab, which is really messing up the experiments in there and...you're not buying this, are you?"
The guard roared and rushed her, and immediately Fred's wings popped out, protecting her as she was knocked down.
Giles dodged the demon and run to the shelf. The knife was tied down so he pulled on it but before he could get it off the shelf, the demon reared up and slashed it's claws across his back. He screamed out at the white hot pain, knowing the demon's claws were poisonous and he only had a short amount of time to get the knife, and released Wesley's soul.
Picking himself off the floor, his blood dripping onto the white floor, he flung himself at the shelf again. The demon roared and Giles quickly turned and pushed the weapon through the creature's hearts. It roared out again before falling to the floor. Giles looked at it for a moment as he tried hard to catch his breath. He could feel his body start to warm up from the poison so he quickly pulled the knife down.
With his breath labored, Giles went through the duct again and slowly crawled through it. He felt weak and could feel droplets of blood falling from his nose. The poison was fast-acting and often made a person's blood extremely thin, which made them bleed to death.
Giles got to the end of the vent and fell out, and onto the ground. One of the demon guards had Fred on the ground and he picked up one of the swords and cut it's head off before falling to his knees. He looked at Fred's blurry figure and coughed, his blood filling up with blood. With the knife in his hand, he quietly muttered the spell and the knife started to glow before Wesley's soul broke free and went upward.
Dropping the knife, Giles looked at Fred. "I'm sorry, Fred," he choked out as he reached out to touch her face. She was warm and he shivered, wanting to curl up on her arms. "I should've told you. I'm sorry." His breath rattled in his chest and he continued to touch her. "Thank you for giving me a purpose. Thank you for loving me. Wesley's free now."
Falling back, he hit the pavement hard and he closed his eyes. He then forced them back open and looked at Fred again. And with his last breath, he whispered, "I love you," as his world turned to black and his heart stopped beating.
Fred had been trying to reach for the sword that had been knocked out of her hand when suddenly the weight on top of her went slack and slumped over. Pushing the now headless guard off her, she saw Rupert there with the knife and let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank God," she cried as she scrambled up. "I thought--."
It was then that she noticed the blood on his mouth and dripping from his nose. She stared at him in shock for a moment, not believing what she was seeing until he suddenly fell.
"Rupert!" she cried, dropping down next to him and pulling him into her arms. Oh, God, his back was torn up, and there was blood everywhere! "No, no, no. Rupert, you can't--no, please. I love you too. Don't die. Please, don't die!"
She let out an anguished scream as she felt him go limp in her arms. He couldn't die. He couldn't leave her! She needed him. She had already lost everyone else she cared about.
Suddenly, she heard a noise and saw more guards. Wrapping her arms around Rupert, she spirited them away, appearing in his flat, on the bed where they had first made love. Holding his body close, she sat there, rocking him as she sobbed, praying for Cordy - or someone - to hear her.
