Listening for that rumbling freight-train sound...
My first encounter with foul weather and media for the year:
I just got off the phone with the local radio station because they have been issuing a tornado warning for something like TEN COUNTIES until 4pm today. After checking the TV and noaa.gov, I was wondering if they knew the difference between a tornado watch (conditions likely to spawn tornadoes) and a tornado warning (we see one--hole up in the basement with the kids and pets NOW). The deejay was adamant that he's sticking to the material whether it's a typo or not. Sigh.
It still unnerves the hell out of me to be talking directly to the radio personality, though. Don't they have people who screen out the weirdos? ;-)
