Summary: AU Kim Heechul is a top plastic surgeon, successful with money, luck and getting what he wants from females and males alike. Everything is perfect on his view of things until he meets someone who might change all of that.
Based loosely on the McNamara/Troy surgery of TV series
Nip/Tuck Waking up the next morning, Heechul groaned softly, rolling onto his back and opening his eyes. He blinked a few times before looking to the space in the bed beside him, finally realising it was empty. He sat up, eyes scanning the room. Any sign of Leeteuk had vanished…clothes and everything. Heechul groaned again, dropping back heavily against the bed. He cursed out loud and put his arm over his face, feeling the weight shift on the bed as Heebum jumped up, nuzzling against his masters chest. Heechul wasn’t sure why he felt so disappointed…He’d half expected to wake up to see the male’s beautiful face laid beside him. Usually it was Heechul who did the disappearing act, this time he’d wanted to stay. He sighed heavily and moved his arm to stroke the cat.
“Aish Heebum…I’m a fool…” He muttered to the cat, laying with him for a moment before dragging himself out of bed and padding into the bathroom, climbing under the shower. He felt the warm water cascading over his skin, his eyes closing as he relaxed. His mind replying the night before, how beautiful Leeteuk had looked. Heechul shook his head.
“Devil in disguise…”

Perched behind his desk, Heechul gently massaged his temples, eyes scanning over the paperwork before him, his mind not really taking in the information. Instead his mind was wondering why Leeteuk had run away…He’d check the phone from time to time, hoping the older male would call him at some point. A knock on the door made Heechul lift his head, his breath caught in his throat as it opened. He sighed softly as Hankyung leaned in, smiling at the other.
“Hey…you’ve been locked in here all day. Something wrong?” He asked as he moved to sit across from Heechul, folding his hands on the desk and looking at his friend with genuine worry in his eyes. Heechul smiled brightly and shook his head.
“I’m fine….Nothing to worry about I swear.” He brushed his hair back from his face, shifting in his seat before looking over at Hankyung. “Just working non-stop as usual.” He waved a hand at the paperwork over the desk. Hankyung rolled his eyes a little.
“You’re lying. Did something happen?” Heechul sighed heavily, Hankyung knew Heechul better than anyone else.
“Yeah…sort of…” He mumbled, shaking his head. Hankyung smirked a little, leaning back in his seat.
“Go on then, tell me about it.”
“Aish…I was supposed to go for dinner with Leeteu- I mean Jungsoo. We argued and somehow….” Hankyung groaned and shook his head.
“You slept with him didn’t you?” Heechul nodded and sighed.
“But when I woke up this morning he’d gone! No note or anything. Fucking asshole just abandoned me!” He scowled, picking up his glass of water to take a sip. Hankyung perked one eyebrow slightly.
“Isn’t it you that usually does that to people?” Heechul half-heartedly threw a pen at the other male and groaned a little.
“This was different…it felt different…Aish Hankyung what do I do…” Hankyung stared silently at Heechul for a moment before he burst out laughing.
“Oh my!! This can’t be true! Has hell frozen over?!” Hankyung panted, laughing too hard, resting his hand against his face as he shook his head. Heechul glared at him, clenching his fists tightly.
“YAH! If you’re not going to help me then get the hell out!” Hankyung put a hand over Heechul’s.
“I’m sorry. I just…I never thought this day would come.” Heechul frowned, completely confused by what Hankyung was talking about. The Chinese male paused for a moment before taking a breath to continue. “The great Kim Heechul has fallen for the fiery Park Jungsoo…or so it would seem.” Heechul sucked in a breath. No…No way would he let that happen…Heechul fall for someone? Tch. That never happens.
“Yeah. Okay then.” He rolled his eyes, drumming his fingertips over the top of the desk. Hankyung leaned forward, resting his elbows against the table as he stared at the male in front of him.
“Tell me Heechul…how do you feel when you think about him? When…you’re with him?” Heechul opened his mouth to speak before he thought about his answer. If he was going to be honest, his heart raced, his mind struggled to keep up his sarcastic façade…All he wanted was Leeteuk in his arms forever…He looked at Hankyung, putting a hand to his mouth.
“I think you’re right…” He replied softly, shocked he was admitting to such a thing. Hankyung smiled brightly.
“Well praise the lord! Someone might finally be able to tame the princess!” Heechul rolled his eyes, letting his head bang against the desk. He closed his eyes and tried to push the thoughts out of his head. He had to admit, Hankyung was so right…Maybe he should call Leeteuk and arrange to see him again. No…Heechul never chases people…they come to him. He lifted his head to look at Hankyung who was still grinning stupidly at him.
“Stop looking at me like that Hankyung.” He frowned, shaking his head a little. Hankyung just reached over to ruffle Heechul’s hair, earning an annoyed huff from the older male.
“It’s a good thing, maybe you’ll settle down and stop picking guys up all the time.” Heechul shook his head.
“You make me sound like a whore.”
“No, you just kept looking out there for that one special person and now you have them. Don’t throw this away Heechul, seriously. Jungsoo might be perfect for you, and make you realise that it’s not that scary to be in love.” Heechul shook his head and dismissed Hankyung, mumbling about needing to do his paperwork before the end of the day. Hankyung shook his head at his friend, giving him a stare before he headed out of the office, heading off to meet Siwon. Heechul sat staring at the empty space in front of him for a moment then shook his head.
“Stupid Chinese man, what does he know.” He scowled, turning to finish off his paperwork. His mind just kept wandering to the night before, how Leeteuk’s lips had felt against his own…He shook his head, trying to push the memories away so he could focus on the paperwork that needed to be done for the next few patients booked in for surgery.

“So did you call him yet?” Heechul groaned as Hankyung questioned him yet again, just as Heechul was about to leave for the day.
“No Hankyung. And I don’t intend on. I don’t chase people.” He huffed, tugging his iPod out of his pocket as a sign he didn’t want to talk about the subject anymore.
“Well, you don’t need to.” Hankyung chuckled, Heechul staring up at him like the Chinese male had finally gone mad.
“What are you talking about?” Hankyung grinned, pointing to the glass doors, Heechul turning his head to see where he was pointing. He almost dropped the iPod when he saw Leeteuk stood outside of the surgery. His back was turned so he couldn’t see the two staring at him but, Heechul could tell it was him. He was shifting around on his feet as though he was cold despite the sun being out. Heechul groaned softly, putting his iPod back into his pocket.
“Have fun.” Hankyung snorted, patting Heechul’s shoulder before wandering off into Siwon’s office. He took a breath, his heart hammering at the thought of seeing Leeteuk again, he had no idea why he was so nervous all of a sudden…they’d had sex the night before, so what was there to be nervous about? He put on his best plain face, pushing his sunglasses onto his face and walking out of the surgery, hands pushed into his pockets as he walked past Leeteuk. He heard the elder gasp at seeing Heechul then his name being called out. He rolled his eyes and turned to look at Leeteuk, his lips pursed in an annoyed expression despite the odd feeling in his chest telling him he felt anything but annoyed.
“Hey…I just want to talk. Okay? No arguing.” Leeteuk held up his hands and gave a small smile, that one dimple showing on his cheek - Heechul wondered for a moment why he suddenly noticed it before he gave a sigh.
“Fine. There’s a coffee place around the corner, we’ll go there.” Leeteuk nodded, looking relieved that Heechul hadn’t screamed at him or thrown a tantrum. They walked in silence to the coffee shop, Heechul glancing at the other from time to time out of the corner of his eye, glad for his sunglasses obscuring the sly glances. Once they got there, they found a quiet table and sat down after ordering their drinks.
“So what did you want to talk about?” Heechul said in a bored tone, stirring the sugar into his coffee. “Maybe the fact that you took off at some point between last night and this morning? Or that it happened at all?” He peered over at Leeteuk who looked more than a little uncomfortable.
“Look, I don’t usually do that, okay? It’s not my style. I…I don’t even know why that happened…I’m supposed to hate you.” He scowled softly, Heechul mentally slapping himself for thinking he still looked so gorgeous.
“Hmm…You weren’t complaining when I had you in my bed.” He scoffed, sipping his coffee and relaxing back in his seat. Leeteuk blushed furiously and looked everywhere but at Heechul, he looked nervous and it only made Heechul grin behind his mug as he took a sip of the coffee.
“Look...I don’t know what you want me to say? It wasn’t supposed to happen but it did. I don’t know why and I apologise.” Leeteuk nodded once he’d finished. Silence settled over them, Leeteuk finally locking gazes with Heechul, the younger just staring.
“Apologise? For what? It’s natural human instinct. You’re attracted to me, it’s animalistic tendencies to either mate with or kill your opponent.” Heechul shrugged, ignoring the look that sparked in Leeteuk’s eyes. He wasn’t sure why his guard was still up, he knew he had feelings for the other male - despite only knowing each other a short while - yet he was still fighting against him every step of the way.
“You are an asshole. You finally got what you wanted from me, now what? You’ll disappear and I’ll never hear from you again?” Heechul snorted, placing his coffee mug down, leaning his head to one side.
“You still think so low of me Jungsoo. If only you gave me a chance, got to know me. You wouldn’t be so quick to judge. You’re no angel either.” He scoffed, standing up and tugging his iPod back out of his pocket. “If you think I’m such a horrible person, why do you keep chasing me? Go ask my friend, Hankyung. He knows me.” He eyed the other male for a moment, his heart pounding against his rib cage like it was trying to break out and find Leeteuk’s heart. “I guess I’ll see you around.” He muttered, turning and striding out of the building while Leeteuk processed what had just happened. He was mentally kicking himself for being so mean to Leeteuk but he couldn’t help it, even if he had fallen for the other male, said male had to fight to prove his place in Heechul’s heart. Outside the cafe, he paused, almost like he was waiting for Leeteuk to chase after him. But when he didn’t, Heechul just shook his head and walked back to the surgery to get his bike home.
“Stupid. As if he’d chase after you.” He muttered to himself, climbing onto his bike and heading home, trying to push any thought of Leeteuk out of his head as he raced home.

The weeks following their last meeting seemed to drag to Heechul. Like he had no reason to get excited for anything. He didn’t go out drinking or socialising after finishing his work for the day. He’d go home, sit in front of the TV with a bottle of whiskey before crawling into bed during the early hours of the morning. This became his routine and he found it quite soothing, he’d lost weight due to not having much time to eat three meals a day and he was getting on with his work in the determination to forget all about a certain Park Jungsoo. Hankyung was starting to get worried, Heechul was still as snappy and sarcastic as ever but the fact that he was quiet the other times and withdrawn made him concerned for his best friend. After a few days discussing it with Siwon, Hankyung finally walked into Heechul’s office and slapped a piece of paper on his desk.
“Tonight. I’m taking you to this new club. Break this damn shell you’ve suddenly shrunk into.” Heechul just sighed and shook his head, his mouth about to give one of his many excuses when Hankyung glared.
“I’ll pick you up about eight.” With that he left, Heechul staring at the VIP ticket on his desk. He really didn’t want to go out but then again...going out and getting drunk might mean he’d forget about Leeteuk and find someone else to sleep with to take his mind off of the other.
When eight o’clock rolled around, Heechul was ready and waiting outside his apartment for his Chinese friend. The other was late as usual and it only irritated Heechul, he still wasn’t that sure it would be a good idea and now Hankyung was late, it made him want to go back to the warmth of his apartment. Just as luck would have it, Hankyung pulled up just as he was turning to go back inside. He just huffed and climbed into the car, waiting for the others excuse. Instead he was met with a grin and they headed off to the club. Hankyung was driving since Siwon had apparently agreed to walk to the club later and pick his car up, as well as the two drunken men. Once they arrived at the club, it was loud and packed with people, a huge line of them outside waiting to be let in - the look of annoyance from them as Hankyung and Heechul flashed their VIP tickets was enough to bring a smirk to Heechul’s face and kept it there as he slipped inside. The music wasn’t too great but the place itself seemed to have a good atmosphere and clean to boot. Hankyung lead Heechul over to a table, getting a waitress to bring them a tray of as many different shots as she could carry as well as a number of bottles of beer. Obviously Hankyung was intending on getting them drunk. They chatted idly for a while until their drinks came, Hankyung lining them up equally in front of them both, then fixed his eyes on Heechul.
“We’re going to play a game. I’ll ask a question, and if you can’t answer, you lie or try to fool me, you drink a shot. Same for me, okay?” Heechul eyed the other for a moment before he rolled his eyes and agreed.
A few hours later, Heechul couldn’t sit up straight. He was well and truly drunk. Hankyung had kept asking him questions about love and bout that damned Leeteuk so Heechul had ended up drinking all of his shots, and most of Hankyungs. He wavered a little before he had to excuse himself for a bathroom break. He thought he was going to be ill but once he stood up and walked - well stumbled - to the bathroom, he was okay. He quickly used the toilet then headed out, colliding with someone on his way. He muttered an apology before trying to get back to the table quickly.
“First you abandon me in a coffee place, now you almost knock me over and can’t even look me in the eye to apologise!” Heechul paused at the voice filtering to his ears. He turned slowly and locked his eyes on Leeteuk, stood with a drink in one hand and his other hand pressed to his hip with an irritated look on his face. Heechul tilted his head to one side and smirked slightly, stepping closer so he could hear Leeteuk properly.
“You know, the amount of times you keep reappearing in my life, I’d think that you were stalking me Jungsoo.” He perked one eyebrow, his eyes doing a quick sweep of the other appearance before turning away, a small pang in his heart at wanting to turn around and confess how he felt to Leeteuk. But he wasn’t like that, he’d refuse until Leeteuk confessed first - and if he didn’t well...Heechul hadn’t thought that part through. He walked back to the table, grabbing his coat and telling Hankyung he was leaving but the other was more than welcome to stay. He stalked out of the club, ignoring the confused call of the Chinese male as he slipped out of the door and out onto the street. Little did he know Leeteuk had been following him again, determined to talk to Heechul about what exactly was going on between them. He was about to call a taxi when a hand on his shoulder turned him to face the male that plagued his mind and heart.
“Look. I’m an asshole to you, I know that. I don’t know why, I just have my barriers up when I’m around you. I apologise but...fate must mean for us to meet since we find each other constantly.” Heechul perked one eyebrow, he never was one for believing in fate or soul mates or any of that nonsense but he just leaned his head to one side.
“What? Like we’re star-crossed lovers searching for each other without realising?” He snorted, rolling his eyes and completely missing the blush that flitted over Leeteuk’s cheeks briefly.
“You never know what the fates have planned for you Heechul.” For a drunk man, Leeteuk could hold a serious conversation pretty well. Heechul just swayed a little, the alcohol in his system hitting him hard as soon as the fresh air had mixed in him.
“They planned for me to meet an arrogant man who seems to have wormed his way into my life only to make it hell because I’m supposed to be the ice prince but, YOU!” He jabbed a finger against Leeteuk’s chest. “Seem to be trying to melt my heart with your stupid beauty and stupid smile.” He snorted, slurring every word but, as the saying goes, a drunk mans words are a sober mans thoughts. Leeteuk looked stunned before shaking his head.
“You’re drunk and talking stupid stuff.” Heechul scowled.
“No I mean it. I don’t talk ‘stupid stuff’ at all. It would ruin my image.” He nodded, swaying a little, instinctively putting his hands on Leeteuk’s shoulders so he didn’t fall. “Why are you doing this to me?” He muttered before leaning in and pressing his lips against Leeteuks. He half expected a slap but Leeteuk was too stunned to do anything - kiss him back or push him away. The kiss lingered for a few moments before Heechul pulled away.
“I’m going home...I have a bottle of Jack Daniels which gets very lonely if I don’t visit every night.” He reached an unsteady hand, his fingers brushing through Leeteuk’s hair. “Devil in disguise...I wonder if you’ll bother my dreams tonight.” He chuckled, gently pushing Leeteuk away and moving to climb into the nearest taxi - ignoring that he could feel the others eyes burning into his back as he left.
