Here I was, lying on my bed, trying to figure out a way to forget this last stressful week when I was struck with an idea. I should do something useful. I started cleaning out the clothes in my bedroom (I'm may be a little, er, very, messy... really you have no idea) but that wasn't enough. Then I remembered something someone once said to me (since I'm also a bit, uh, lazy): "Whenever you feel lazy, do the dishes." That's exactly what I decided to do.
Thing is, I haven't used my kitchen tap for months because it was leaking. I fixed it by wrapping it in a whole lot of plastic bags until it stopped and it worked. My mom brought me an old tap she had laying around but I left it aside until I got in the mood to either change it or call a plumber. I've used buckets and my bathroom tap to do the dishes since then. I hardly ever cook, so I was okay with the set up.
That is until tonight. Tonight I was determined to change my kitchen tap. Everything was doing remarkably fine for someone without any plumbing experience or equipment. I took the old one out and placed the new one. I went fine until it was completely inside the pipe and it decided to break. A clean snap and I holding the tap in my hand with part of it still inside the pipe. And that was it. No tools whatsoever to help me get it out while I was standing there soaking wet. Even closing the main valve it is still leaking a bit.
I managed to slow it down but my kitchen is all wet, my cabinets are dripping and there is nothing I can do until tomorrow.
