Emily was a bit different than all of the other Ravenclaws sitting in the common room. Her fellow Ravenclaws all reeked of the anxious excitement that always came on Thursday nights, the kind of excitement that only the thought of a Friday coming up could bring. It was almost the weekend, and no one could concentrate on their homework. They were all too busy planning their weekends...all except Emily.
She leaned over her Charms textbook, squinting a bit to read the small text. The words were excruciatingly tiny, and it was hard even for Emily's average-vision eyes to read. She furrowed her brow, wishing she had glasses. She was pretty sure she could make out the word for the charm she was looking for. That looked like an...an A, and then the next was either an E, or...no, that was definitely a B. A-B...either an I or an L, and then...
Emily leaned closer to the book. She was pretty sure she could make out the word. She lifted her wand, aimed it at the textbook, and stated: "Abiego!"
The book, instead of what she had expected, flew straight at a boy walking through the common room and started smacking him on the head. After hitting him a few times, it dropped to the floor and landed hard on his toe. Emily's face burned bright red as she jumped off of the couch and scurried over to the boy.
"Oh my Merlin, I'm so sorry!" She said in apology, her face burning.
