Michael Voris, the YouTube SuperCatholic™, who's more Catholic than the Pope himself (just ask him) is at it again.
Here's his vid, where he's bitching about what a Ft. Barron said in another vid.

Can you imagine? This dipshit makes the big mistake of citing Barron's credentials. W\hat are your credentials, Michael? You're just another asshole who happens to have a YouTube account.
This doesn't prevent Voris from opening his asshole wide and sending forth a cascading Amazon of pure shit. He has a well established habit of doing that, and in a most intellectually dishonest manner. He quote mines from Matthew, but he completely ignores this:
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Here's the "money quote": an unnamed "young man" specifically asks Jesus what his whole raisen d'etre is, and this is his reply. He tells him to keep the commandments. Which commandments? Jesus cites six out of ten. With Jesus, 60% is a passing grade. Notice that at no time -- not once -- does he question the young man's salvation. He makes no mention of having to be "born again", no mention that Jesus is the way, truth, and life, no "no one comes to the father but through me". None of those later, false, and heretical interpolations appear here. Most vof that bullshit comes from John, and even the RCC itself no longer pretends to believe it's genuine, as John isn't one of the three synoptic gospels. It's a fraud written much later for political purposes.
Notice, if you will, that Jesus, himself, never equates himself with God. He rejects even the appellation of "Good Master". The only condition he lays on the young man is "perfection", not "salvation". He's already saved; he's just not perfect.
These dumbassed Fundies worship the Bible, but apparently they never bother to read it, or understand what they're reading even if they do.
Next, the SuperCatholic™ cites TheQueenOfHeaven™ from the MiracleOfFatima™ (of course he would). Fatima™ is bullshit made up by a ten y/o girl and her sibs who managed to put one over on the Magisterium™ which endorsed belief in the nonsensical idea that a rock concert sized crowd gathered in the Portuguese hinterlands (Lucy said she was ten before she saw her first automobile). The so-called "miracle" of the sun depends on who you choose to believe as to what actually happened. The accounts are arbitrary and even contradictory. They violate the laws of physics as the "miracle" would involve impossible accelerations and velocities that exceed the speed of light by orders in magnitude. Not to mention that this supposedly happened and no one noticed. Now that's what I call a "Miracle of the Sun" :-D I guess they didn't heed the advice to stay off the towers and not eat the brown acid. If Lucy says she "saw hell", she was lying about that as she was lying about everything else.
Next, this dumbass quote mines Revelations, whose alternate title is the Apocalypse of John. What does that mean? At the time, the word "apocalypse" refereed to a literary style. Back in those days, there was no such thing as freedom of speech or freedom of the press. What you said, what you wrote, could -- and did -- get people imprisoned or killed.
"4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne".
Churches which are, not churches that will exist in some unspecified future. This is not prophecy. It is commentary disguised as a future prediction, and just one example of many an "apocalypse" -- a literary style.
There is no hell in Judaism, as the idea of a place of eternal torment for bad people was imported into Xianity when The CatholicChurch™ was created by Constantine for purely political purposes. The whole thing is simply a thin veneer over the same old paganism. The pagans knew hell was shit they made up to control the public at large. This was debated, and Plato makes mention of this, as he was opposed on the grounds that hell would make Greek soldiers afraid to fight. One of the Roman philosophers summed it up: "The people regard religion as true, the philosophers as false, and the rulers as useful". You can see this in Voris' vid when he argues that if we can't scare the sheep into the fold, then how can we corral them for their regular sheerings?
Barron is right, and Voris is wrong. WHUDDA SURPRISE!
