Well, considering what I found in my little nook of this world. If anyone finds a gilded tablet book, or an ebony stone tablet book. Do me a favor.

Destroy it.

amun-ra, item rain, kill it dead!, no more mummies, book of the dead, key

Because it's evil and rather inconvenient.

Not sure about zombies but everything else does fit.

Nothing good that's for sure.

Better off gone and out of our hair.

You gotta wonder why people would leave stuff like that lying around in the first place...

What do these books do? Bring back the dead? Summon demon gods from space?

This place is odd enough to have that happen.

Demon Gods...from Space? Good Lord, I really hope not! Demons on Earth are bad enough.

Those kinds are pretty bad too.

But if I see anything like that book, I'll burn it or something. I've had enough trouble with books containing forbidden knowledge and the dark secrets of the universe.

More trouble than they're worth.

We are in agreement on that my friend.

They really are, especially when you go through all the trouble of acquiring said book and wind up with nothing but camel spit and a bad arm for your troubles.

Forbidden knowledge that can threaten the universe, I suppose?

Not sure about the universe but it is rather dodgey I'm afraid.

Is it the knowledge itself or the way it is presented?

x_dilettante_x January 21 2010, 16:18:17 UTC
No the knowledge itself. Honestly the way it's presented may be what's protecting it in modern times.

Not too many two-bite crooks about that can read Ancient Egyptian.

Hm..? I admit, you have gained my curiosity. Why would you want the books destroyed?

Reply

x_dilettante_x January 20 2010, 05:22:25 UTC
Because they're more trouble then they're worth. If one wasn't made of gold it'd be worthless.

madwashu January 20 2010, 05:30:00 UTC
How can a book be that much trouble?

[He has to smirk a bit at that- after all, he and Evy had asked the same thing.]

You'd be surprised how troublesome 'light' reading can be.
