Proud to be a Glambert :D

So I asked my mom to get me the Adam Lambert CD for Christmas the other day, and she said that she didn't want to be seen buying it and would send my dad to get it. I asked her why, and she replied that there was too much publicity and controversy and she didn't want to be seen buying it. Now I, having apparently lived under a rock for the past little while, had no idea what she was talking about, so I went and looked up his performance at the AMA's that everyone seemed to be making such a fuss about. Indeed, I saw the crotch grabs and the "simulated oral sex" and the guy on guy action (which by the way, I didn't even notice the first time I watched it. I had to go back and view it again the figure out what the deal was.). Now I admit, he was rather out there when he shoved the dancer's face into his crotch but really, is it the sexual encounter onstage or the fact that it's two guys up there? Because singers like Britney Spears, Madonna, Janet Jackson, etc molest their dancers (and vice versa, I might add) in incredibly inappropriate fashions, and no one says a word about that. Lady GaGa spends one of her videos writhing on a couch basically naked. But because it's guy on guy, everyone goes crazy!

I watched Adam's response to critics of his performance on the Early Show last night. The woman interviewing him kept bringing up the fact that he had probably scarred younger audiences. I was like, first of all, why aren't the parents monitoring what they watch on TV? Like listen to the lyrics and realize that this is not what your small child should be listening to! Also, WTF are these kids doing watching music awards shows at 11 at night? Really? We all know that every year, inappropriate shit goes down at music awards shows. And why is it that they go on and on about the kiss and not about the oral sex part? Who cares if it was 2 guys you can't even tell on the screen because its panned out the and the dude is so glam he looks like a girl anyway! Besides the fact that people should stop freaking out about the fact that he's gay. Anyway, my original point was that he responded in the exact same way I did --that parents should be monitoring what their kids watch. The woman responded by saying its a family network, and he was like what kind of parent lets their kid stay up til 11 to watch people like Janet Jackson, Lady GaGa, etc? And I was like EXACTLY!!! Stop blaming Adam for scarring children that shouldn't have even been watching it in the first place!!!

So in conclusion, people need to stop railing on Adam for being gay and expressing himself. If he was a heterosexual woman, no one would say a word. stupid double standards. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that they are triple standards. The point is, I am proud to be a Glambert and am not afraid to show my appreciation for adam and his music just because other people can't see past his sexual orientation. Excuse him for not being the model American Idol. Speaking of which, has anyone looked at Carrie Underwood lately? skank.

Finally, (i know, I already concluded but whatever. this is my blog post and i can do what i want.) I just want to tell anyone who reads this not be afraid to stand up for who or what you believe in. Don't let the media dictate your life choices. Adam certainly didn't.

Not the interview, but still epic. If you need one reason to love Adam Lambert, this is it.
