Okay, its recess, and I have learnt the first rule of primary school teaching, the year 1's fear their teachers FOR A REASON, they are PSYCHOPATHS. One second they're all sweet and nice, next thing ya know its a blonde Ms. Texier without her morning coffee. I'm sitting in the staff room (there's only on common one here) and they have these huge white boards with stuff planned on them in a calender like form for 2 terms, TWO WHOLE FREAKING TERMS. These teachers are control freaks man
Today I'm working with year 1.. and their psychopathic aggressive teacher. I'll probably spend most of my time feeling awkward and out of place, yay.
1.00pm
Its Lunchtime now and I just got your text after taking the kids up to their lunch area, things aren't that bad aside from the psychotically agro teacher. During their maths lesson I was sitting with the kids PRAYING they knew their mental maths well and wouldn't be picked on. But yeah, I made a couple of friends in the class;
Mio: Japanese girl, she's energetic, smart and really on the ball, she has such a fun attitude to learning
James: he's a bit of a doofus but he tries so hard to please people but he tends to be a bit distracted and off task, he's REALLY talkative
Angelica: she's a quiet yet giggly girl, always up for a chat about jewelry or accessories
but yeah, they ended up teaching me how to play boggle, and they were all interested in my jewelery, I ended up teaching the girls what the Kanji for love is. James thought it was a bit boring and girly for him, so I talked to him for a bit about ninjas and samurai which he thought was really cool. After that we all decided to pretend it was opposite day, you had that at your school right? its when everything you say means the opposite, so if I wanted to say "I love you " I'd have to say "I hate you".
Teachers keep recognising me from all the years back, others haven't and some have never met me, the principle is still the same here, back in year six my mum said she had the rear end of a pony and for the entire year I would neigh every time she walked by.
3.27pm
just got back from my first day of work experience, it finished on a high after a day of ups and downs, since the last time I wrote I've befriended another little girl in my class, her name is Amelia and she's this little (looks africa) girl and she has this tremendously puffy afro, I sat with her and helped her with her work this afternoon because she's not well educated as the other kids. It was really great all of the kids started to talk to me, and they were all interested in my necklace so I was reminded of you a lot, yeah it was great, until the teacher ruined it 3 minutes before and after the bell. She was being a totally bitch to this little boy who couldn't write his d's properly she kept on sending him back making him right d after d, the poor boy was in tears by the end of it. But yeah after the bell a couple of the girls wanted to introduce me to their parents, they were so cute.
