And here we are again for another weekly blog. Monday's parenting class was amusing, all about breastfeeding and stuff but the instructional vid was from the 80's and OMG those haircuts! Lots of giggling (amongst consenting adults most of whom are older than me), but a lot of use was learned as well. It just was fun too which is no bad thing. As for the rest of the week...
Wednesday was my 28 week check up. My blood pressure is as steady as a rock (not one reading has been anything other tghan 120/80), and my urine was squeaky clean. I get sick of peeing in a cup every time I go for a check up but can't be helped. Lets see, oh yeah, time to get him checked over, and he's running away from the doppler yet again, how I dunno as there is nowhere for him to go! Anyway, his heart is great, the sounds are all good as they should be and heart rate is 144. My tummy measures 30cm at 28.5 weeks (supposed to be 1 cm for every week of development but well within the 3cm tolerance for normal development) so no sign of him being overly big thank god. Only slight down side is that I have to have my liver function tested as I have all over body itch. Its probably down to my underlying eczema but better safe than sorry. So getting that done with my 28 week blood tests at my glucose tolerance test at the hospital tomorrow morning.
So all is well in that respect and we shall see what my blood tests say. My next checkup is on Feb 13th. What else... meh, no idea about security at work yet, but I have got all my forms to claim my maternity allowance now, so that is something. Just waiting to see if I get to leave when I choose, or have to go earlier under the circumstances.
Now come to the weekend and my parents came to visit (have left hence I am writing this). Being the dears they are they brought down the cotbed, the baby bath and stand, the travel cot and the highchair they had saved for us, and a load of cot bedding. Brilliant, so hubby and I between us have the nursery so much closer to completion. Still a couple of bits to buy, but getting close to ready for baby room wise, though I still have a hospital bag to start putting together. Here is a quick look round, though no commentary this time.

Last things to go in there are a glider (rocking/feeding chair) a table by the changing unit for baby changing gear and a baby monitor. Other than that its arrange all we own for him better (dumped at the mo) and put the little cuboard box on the wall that currently is perched on his shelf. I will note, it was my hubby who tucked the toys under the blanket in the cotbed, not me... I just walked in to find them like that and giggled. But getting there now, slowly but surely.
Mum, dad and I went outlet shopping yesterday for bargains and I am so chuffed. I came back with some awesome baby booties, a set with jeans, t-shirt and a coat for baby, two t-shorts for him (one with the slogan 'Little Dribbler' and the other with 'Toothless but Ruthless') and this awesome hoodie!
And even hubbie approves! Its so cute and I love it. I actually came back with something for me too. Knee high, lace up suede leather boots, a bargain at £25! So so pleased with that. And soooo comfy. Yay for a treat for mummy for once! It was a nice trip out. but that is all I have for this week. No bump picture as I cannot get close to my mirror as hubby has taken over the bedroom to watch the football but watch this space...
