Well look at me, actually on the blog something akin to regularly at the moment. But I genuinely have bits to talk about at the mo.
So Saturday was Bonfire night / Guy Fawkes night / November 5th (hope that explains it for all), and we decided to try the gothling with fireworks. Not a big display. All the ones round here were big park and ride schemes right around his bedtime and really, he would have struggled to cope with the crowds, the late hour and having to switch from car to bus to busy, noisy place, to loud fireworks, to bus to car. SSo we did little ones at home.
He loved it, he declared they were 'pretties', and banged on the patio doors in an attempt to gain an encore. We have big double patio doors to the garden see, we turned off the lights and let him watch his dad run round the garden setting them off. Unlike last year where sparklers were meh, he loved every minute of it. Real bonus.
Also turns out I won third prize for my little ficlet that I wrote for the
honeybee_inn Halloween party. Look see:
You can read the fic
here if you like, seeing as I never posted it on this journal.
It was just a little bit of fun, so I am thrilled.
So, tomorrow my parents arrive for a visit for a few days. Not so much newsworthy I know, but on Saturday we head to London to see
War Horse and the New London Theatre for the Saturday matinee. Hubby is having the gothling and we are heading into and out of London on the train so we can enjoy. I'm really rather excited.
Of course I have to mention the knitting. Gran's scarf is finished, and I am very proud of it, knitted from my own handspun. I hope she likes it!
And I am storming through the hand spun cowl for my MIL.So the little man is getting a hat too as I will have the time.
So there, some actual news. I shall have to blog again after the show and tell you how our day out went!
