"The first cut is the deepest."
So sings Sheryl Crow.
But it was harder to say goodbye to Timmy the second time around.
He came back last Thursday from his exchange in Perth to surprise me on my birthday, and SURPRISED I sure was. It was mind-blasting. I'd taken leave from work, and I started off my day hoping to get a morning swim and a postcard (hurray!) from Perth, but a stamp-less postcard of the Singapore skyline with draw-in cartoons of Australian icons just made me confused. Things only made sense when Timmy popped out from behind the pillar - why Nurul would ask me out to breakfast before work (it's to get me to check the mailbox first thing in the morning), why Timmy was so insistent on me taking leave from work on my birthday and why it took only 3 days for the postcard to arrive (he said he only mailed it on Monday, to get "the perfect timing").
I truly have the sweetest boyfriend in the world.
The weekend flew too fast, it wasn't the smoothest ride, and a lot of doubts and questions were raised, but none of that mattered when 3.20pm this afternoon came around; I had to say goodbye once again. This time the tears did fall, and I didn't want to let go. I really didn't want to let go.
Praying for you love, and love you always.
Until December, when you come home to me.
